The Town of Grafton, MA was recently awarded a MVP 2.0 grant in the amount of $100,000 from the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program!

This award will afford Grafton continued support in increasing climate resilience by building off the MVP 1.0 initiative implemented in 2018. MVP 2.0 utilizes an inclusive process to build climate resilience with an emphasis on social and climate justice. Community members interested in getting involved can join the Town’s efforts by emailing [email protected].

Completion of the MVP 2.0 process makes the Town eligible to receive $50,000 to implement a Seed Project. This is a short-term project lasting 9-10 months with the goal of advancing community-identified resilience priorities.

Funding will help 32 municipalities strengthen climate resilience planning with a focus on equity

WARNING: Permit Application Scam

The Town has received ongoing reports of permit application scams targeting municipalities and applicants across the state. Falsified emails are being sent to applicants, which claim to approve their permit request and subsequently request wired payment for an "Application Review and Approval Fee." An example of a fraudulent invoice (PDF) can be found by clicking here: https://www.grafton-ma.gov/DocumentCenter/View/18684/Scam-Invoice?bidId=

Residents and business owners should be aware of suspicious emails that do not have the typical Town of Grafton format. For example, they use ".gov," ".usa.com," or something similar. Additionally, the Town will never send an invoice asking for a wire payment as shown in the example.

If you believe you've been targeted by such a scam, make sure to notify Grafton Police Department. If you are unsure if an invoice is fraudulent, please contact the Town for assistance at 508-839-5335, or via email at [email protected].
