Collaborative Summer Library Program Our Vision – CSLP envisions vibrant summer reading programs available to everyone through their library.

Collaborating since 1987 around summer reading, CSLP has a long history of public library engagement around vibrant slogans/themes. 40 member states and island nations are currently members of the CSLP. All public libraries in member states are included in our membership, but any public library can become an individual member on an annual basis for a small fee.

This September, Library Card Sign-up Month invites communities to discover all the possibilities waiting behind a library card—from books and digital resources to programs, technology, makerspaces, cultural experiences, and more.

For library supporters like Trustees, Friends, and Foundation leaders, it’s also an opportunity to help amplify the message: library access is community access. Consider partnering with your library to promote card sign-ups, reaching new audiences through community organizations and local businesses, or helping support inclusive outreach efforts.
