May's book club selection "Cassandra in Reverse" by Holly Smale is available now at the Library.
Cassandra in Reverse by Holly Smale is about a woman named Cassie who discovers she can time travel after a terrible day where she gets dumped, fired, and her favorite cafe runs out of muffins. The witty, neurodivergent protagonist uses her new power to fix her life, but learns she's focusing on the wrong things, exploring themes of second chances, family, and self-discovery, with a surprising twist at the end.
The Library is open on Wednesdays 9am to noon, 5pm to 8pm and Saturdays 9am to noon, 2pm to 5pm.

Good Morning Grafton, this is your friendly neighborhood library director. I just wanted to send out a giant "THANK YOU" to everyone who has donated books in the last few weeks. I put it out there that we are interested in book donations, and you responded so positively. We are very grateful for your generosity.

Occasionally I like to ramble through the library book collection to find an old classic to read. This time I found Ernest Hemingway's tour de force For Whom the Bell Tolls. Took me a bit to be grabbed, but once I was, it was an excellent read. It takes place during the Spanish Civil War in the 1930's. An American joins the Russians as a mercenary fighter as an explosive expert. They are fighting the fascists from Italy. And then he finds four days of love..... What I find in these old definitive novels the way society has maybe changed for better or worse. But I always find a deep well thought out story filled with a challenging narrative. One thing for sure, unlike the current typical murder fodder being churned out today like factory widgets, they entice and stay with you long after the cover is closed. There is quite a nice variety of books at our library including many classics. You should take a little ramble yourself.
