State Law mandates that all property owners are to receive a Real Estate Assessment Notice, regardless of whether the value of the property has increased or decreased. These notices show values for both the 2025 and 2026 year. The Letters have been mailed out and will be arriving in your mailboxes soon. Please contact the assessor indicated on your letter if you have any questions.

The Tax Equalization office is currently accepting Homestead Credit Applications for 2026!

Another FYI: North Dakota offers several property tax relief programs, including state-wide credits and specific exemptions for qualifying individuals and property types.

The primary programs for homeowners are:

The Primary Residence Credit, (Application for the primary residence credit must be submitted online at tax.nd.gov/prc during the annual application window from January 1-April 1)

The Homestead Property Tax Credit (for seniors and disabled persons) (Applications may be obtained from your County Tax Equalization office)

The Disabled Veteran's Property Tax Credit, (Applications can be obtained from your County Tax Equalization office) .
