📢 Community Notice – Seismic Equipment in Town

You may notice small devices like the one pictured being placed in our town’s right-of-ways over the next few days.

GoldStar will be installing seismic recording devices starting as early as tomorrow. These devices will remain in place for approximately 2–3 weeks.

👉 Things to know:
- These devices DO NOT emit anything
- They are completely safe
- They only record ground vibrations/readings
- They will be placed in public right-of-ways

Please avoid disturbing or moving the equipment so the data collection can be completed properly.

❓ If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of the workers who are placing the readers out.

Important notice Please share!

Brian has informed us that there is a water leak he is actively trying to locate. The water tower is currently empty, and no leaks have been found inside town so far. The leak is believed to be outside of town.

Unfortunately, water service will be unavailable for an unknown amount of time while repairs are being made.

Please know that Brian is working as fast as he can to locate the issue and get water service restored. We will keep everyone updated as we learn more.

Thank you all for your patience!

A drip? A stream? Just how do you prep your pipes for winter weather? Here's our ultimate guide on how and when to drip in anticipation of this weekend's deep freeze.

These instructions should be typical for most homes. Please use this as general guidance.

* Only drip where pipes are along an exterior-facing wall (see below the video link for specific info on hot-cold dripping)
* Keep cabinet doors under sinks open to allow warmer air to circulate
* In some instances, you may wish to wrap your pipes or use insulating covers available at big box or hardware stores.
* Drip at a slow, steady rate or a small stream no wider than a pencil lead or strand of dry spaghetti (about 2-3 mm.) - See instructions in our video below.
* If your house has a basement or crawl space, wrap exposed water pipes to insulate them against freezing.

CHECK OUT THE LINK BELOW FOR VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS.

The faucet we used for the video has dual hot-cold handles. If yours has a single handle, turn on the hot water first until hot water begins to flow, then bring the handle into the middle so both hot and cold flow at the same time. Then, lower the pressure to a small stream no wider than the lead of a pencil or strand of dry spaghetti (the lowest steady stream possible.)

❄️ Brrrrr… Gracemont! ❄️
Extreme cold is headed our way, so let’s all do our winter prep to avoid frozen pipes and frozen neighbors!

💧 Drip those faucets (a little drip now saves a BIG mess later)
🔥 Stay warm & travel safe
👵🐶 Check on the elderly, your neighbors, and your animals — if you’re cold, they probably are too!

Bundle up, stay cozy, and remember… Winter is temporary… but a plumbing bill will haunt you 😅

Let’s look out for each other, Gracemont! 💙

🚨 IMPORTANT BILLING UPDATE FOR GRACEMONT UTILITY CUSTOMERS 🚨

The Town of Gracemont has officially switched to a new utility billing system. Please note the following important changes:

📬 New Bills:
• Your monthly bill will look different—the new billing cards are completely green.
• If you previously received group billing, you will now receive a separate bill for each account.
• If you normally receive your bill by email, you will receive a paper bill this month. We are working to restore email billing by the next cycle.
• If you have more than one Polycart, dumpster, or a lock bar, your bill will not list each item separately at this time—these services are temporarily grouped together on the bills, which may make your trash total appear higher. We are currently trying to see if it is possible to have each service listed individually.

💳 Payments:
• If you previously had payment information on file for automatic payments on the 10th, we will no longer be able to process those in-office.
• To view your bills or enroll in autopay, paperless billing, text-to-pay, and public alerts, please visit:

gracemontutilities.nexbillpayonline.com

(Website should be available by the end of the day on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.)
• Phone payments must be made by calling 888-279-4920. We can no longer process phone payments in the office.

💲 Updated Service Fees:
• Card payments:
$2.95 for payments $250 or less
2.75% for payments over $250
• E-check payments: $2.00

📞 Update Your Contact Information:

Now is a great time to ensure we have your current phone number. Please write your updated phone number on your billing card when returning it with your payment.

🆘 Need Help?

If you need assistance setting up your online account or autopay, please stop by the office- We will be happy to help however we can. We appreciate your patience as we work through this transition and resolve any issues that may arise. Thank you for your understanding!
