🇺🇸 Gowrie's 2026 Annual Independence Day Celebration 🇺🇸

The countdown to our favorite community tradition is on! Gather your family, friends, and neighbors as we celebrate America's 250th birthday with a week full of traditions, memories, fun, and patriotic pride.

This year, our celebration kicks off on Saturday, June 27th and concludes with fireworks on July 4th.

The Gowrie Independence Day Celebration is one of the longest running patriotic events in the State of Iowa and at the centerpiece of this pride is American Legion Peterson Post #431.

The Gowrie Annual Independence Day Celebration is one of the longest running patriotic events in the State of Iowa, dating back to 1882. Several years and generations later, families gather to celebrate our community’s history. Many traditions have been formed and memories have been made over the last 144 years. This year's Independence Day celebration promises to be one of the most memorable in our community's history as residents gather not only to celebrate the Fourth of July, but also to honor America's 250th birthday.

🇺🇸INVITE and SHARE our event: Gowrie's 2026 Annual Independence Day Celebration and join our community for a week of celebration, events, and fun!

This year our event kicks-off on Saturday, June 27th and concludes with fireworks on Saturday, July 4th. Full schedule coming soon!

Our community invites you to Military Appreciation Day TOMORROW Saturday, June 13, 2026!

We are grateful to have a UH-60 Black Hawk land at 0845, Howitzer Cannon will shoot off blanks at 0930, and a Humvee on display for the day.

Free lunch for all military and lots of fun all day at the Gowrie Municipal Golf Course!

Open to the public - all ages are encouraged to come show their support to our American Heroes.
