Outdoor Bazaar:

Gowanda Volunteer Fire Department Outdoor Bazaar has 20 participants that will be setting up on the fire department's lawn this Saturday June 6th to sell items from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. this is a rain or shine event.

We stand in support of Gowanda Ambulance Service Corp

And just how many other departments the state owes money too. They continue to force all these unfunded mandates down our throats with training,etc costing all these agencies more money, but don't want to pay their fair share.

If we didn't pay our bills, you can bet the bill collector would be knocking on our door looking to get paid or our doors shut permanently.

We are very appreciative of our community we live in that continues to support the fire company and the ambulance services here locally.

Thank you to all those that participated in today's fishing clinic at the fire hall and on the Cattaraugus Creek.

We had a total of 60 participants that learned the fundamentals of fishing. The weather cooperated and it was a fun day had by all. Thank you again to all the volunteers that made this possible from our own fire company, Bill Mansfield , Lake Erie Chapter of fly fishers international, and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation

Lunch was provided by the Gowanda Fire Department.

We would like to take this opportunity and formally congratulate Carol Sheibley, as she has been named a government champion. Carol is a member of our department, Deputy Mayor and Fire Commissioner for the Village of Gowanda.

She has been officially selected as one of America’s 250 Public Service Champions by Local Gov 250 and the National Academy of Public Administration. Local Gov 250 is a national effort led by a coalition of local governments and government associations honor and elevate the role of government as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary. Thank you to all those that supported our BBQ, we sold out. You know the chicken is good when the tour bus shows up. We do our own cooking and sauce. Our next BBQ is September 20th.
