🚨 BURN BAN IN EFFECT — MISSISSIPPI COUNTY 🚨

The Gosnell Police Department would like to remind everyone that Mississippi County is currently under a Burn Ban. 🔥🚫

During a burn ban, please DO NOT conduct any outdoor burning, including burn piles, brush, leaves, trash, or other open burning.

With dry conditions, fires can spread quickly and become dangerous for our community and first responders.

We ask everyone to please follow the burn ban and help us keep Gosnell and Mississippi County safe.

If you see an unattended fire or a fire that is spreading, call 911 immediately.

The Gosnell Police Department became aware this morning that our department email accounts were compromised. Working alongside our IT support, we have identified and corrected the issue.

⚠️ If you received an email from a Gosnell Police Department email address containing a “secure attachment,” DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT.

Please report the email as phishing/spam and delete it immediately. This email is part of the scam and did not come from the Gosnell Police Department.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work to keep our community safe both in person and online.

If you have any questions or concerns about an email you received, please contact the Gosnell Police Department directly before opening any attachments.

🚔 SCHOOL TRAFFIC SAFETY REMINDER 🚔

We know school traffic in the mornings and afternoons can be stressful and frustrating. Our officers are working hard each day to keep everyone safe, direct traffic, and keep traffic moving as smoothly as possible.

We ask that all drivers please listen to and follow the instructions of Gosnell Police Officers who are directing traffic. Their priority is getting everyone through the school zones safely and efficiently.

⚠️ Please remember: When traffic is backed up in a turning lane, do not use the oncoming traffic lane to drive around the line. Doing so can violate Arkansas traffic laws and, more importantly, creates a serious risk of a collision.

Please be patient and wait your turn. You will get to where you are going. It is not worth putting yourself, your children, or other drivers in danger just to get around the line a little faster.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience as we work together to keep our students, parents, school staff, and community safe.

Slow down. Follow directions. Be patient. Stay safe. 💙💛

As everyone gets back into the school-year routine, please remember:

🚗 Slow down in school zones
🚸 Watch for students walking and biking
🚌 Obey school bus stop signs and signals
🚙 Expect extra traffic during drop-off and pick-up
📱 Put the phone down and stay focused

🚍 GOSNELL CITY SCHOOL BUS SAFETY 🚍

As the new school year gets underway, we want to remind everyone in our community to SLOW DOWN, PAY ATTENTION, AND WATCH FOR OUR CHILDREN.

🛑 STOP when a school bus has its red lights flashing.
🚫 DO NOT PASS a stopped school bus.
📵 Stay off your phone and keep your eyes on the road.
🚸 Watch carefully for children crossing streets and entering or exiting buses.
⚠️ Slow down in school zones and be prepared for unexpected stops.

A few extra seconds of patience could prevent a tragedy. Our children deserve to get to and from school safely every day.

The Gosnell City Police Department is asking everyone to do their part to help keep our students, bus drivers, crossing guards, and school staff safe.

On Tuesday of this week, the Gosnell Police Department was honored to receive a generous donation of bags of mulch from the Lowe’s of Blytheville.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the management and staff for their generosity and continued support of our department. Donations like these help us improve the appearance of our facilities and demonstrate the strong partnership between local businesses and law enforcement.

According to The National Weather Service, a Tornado Watch has been issued for Gosnell, Arkansas until 11:00 PM CDT tonight (April 27).

Please stay weather-aware and be prepared to take action if conditions worsen. A watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop.

🔹 Monitor local weather updates
🔹 Have a plan in place in case a warning is issued
🔹 Identify a safe shelter location (interior room, lowest level)
🔹 Keep your phone charged and alerts turned on
