Northwest Hills Regional Trails                 Northwest Hills Regional Trails Connectivity Project

10/23/2018

Last week, NHCOG staff presented at the Southern New England American Planning Association (SNEAPA) conference.

The sessions were on:

" Right-Sizing Affordable Housing Projects for Your Community"

This session will look at how affordable housing can be developed in small communities through partnerships. The Housing Connection Program of Connecticut provides technical support and works with community leaders to help develop affordable housing that is appropriately sized for the community. "

and

"Local Resiliency - How Connecticut Towns are Tackling Climate Change Through Councils of Governments"

Regardless of size or location, municipalities should increase their resiliency as the climate continues to change. Projects do not need to be overly complicated or expensive to deliver effective results. Learn about three projects conducted by Connecticut councils of governments including a Critical Infrastructure Vulnerability Study, Community Rating System Programs, and a Rural Resiliency Vision and Toolkit that increased local resiliency."

Thank you for the opportunity to share NHCOG projects, highlight our partners, and to hear about many wonderful projects throughout the New England region.
