The Goshen Township Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2026 Citizens Police Academy, Session 14. This seven‑week program gives residents an inside look at police operations, including criminal investigations, traffic stops, domestic violence response, juvenile crimes, use of force, K‑9 operations, and more. Participants will also tour the Police Department, the Clermont County Jail, and the 911 Center.

Classes begin Monday, June 8 and meet every Monday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with graduation on July 2. The program is free.. Space is limited, and applicants must be 18 or older and able to attend all sessions. A background check is required.

Applications may be dropped off or mailed to Captain Don Hampton at 6757 Goshen Road, Goshen, OH 45122. For questions, contact Captain Hampton at 513‑722‑3200 or [email protected].

Graduates are eligible to join the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, which supports community programs such as Shop with a Cop, parade traffic posts, storm shelter staffing, and more.

After more than 47 years of policing, Officer Gary Roush retires from the Goshen Township Police Department effective at midnight tonight. His career has included service as an Air Force Military Police Officer, a Miami Township Police Officer, and the last eleven years as a Goshen Township Police Officer. We thank Officer Roush for a lifetime of service, dedication, and for his commitment to training officers.

Women’s Self-Defense Course – May 30, 2026

The Goshen Township Police Department, in partnership with the Goshen Lions Club and the Goshen Township Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association, will offer a free three-hour Women’s Self-Defense Course on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Goshen Township Police Department.
