At 4:35 PM on September 8, 2026, the Goshen Fire District was added as mutual aid to a large brush fire in the Nob Hill Fire Department’s district.

Upon the arrival of initial Nob Hill units, firefighters encountered a fast-moving fire involving an area of field roughly the size of a football field. The fire was rapidly spreading from the open field into nearby woodland, threatening multiple structures. Farm vehicles in the area were also being threatened and began catching fire.

Due to the rapidly escalating conditions, the Nob Hill Incident Commander immediately requested additional mutual aid. The Springdale Fire Department, Goshen Fire District, Hickory Creek Fire Department, Highway 94E Fire Department, Hindsville Fire Department, Piney Point Fire Department, and Round Mountain Fire Department were added to assist.

Two divisions were established to coordinate the large incident. The South Division operated near Vanzant Road, while the North Division operated off Hardwood Road.

Goshen Fire District personnel were assigned to the North Division, where firefighters worked aggressively to protect multiple chicken houses and prevent the advancing fire from spreading through thick surrounding woodlands.

Through the coordinated efforts, professionalism, and aggressive tactics of all departments operating on scene, the incident was ultimately brought under control.

Conditions firefighters faced exemplified the current Burn Ban in effect. Please remember the danger of burning in this time and please hold off until the Burn Ban is lifted.

The Goshen Fire District responded with seven firefighters, TRV1, two brush trucks, one engine, and one tanker.

At 10:13 PM on August 19, 2026, the Goshen Fire District was dispatched to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident in the 800 block of Goshen Tuttle Road.

While en route, responding personnel were advised that two patients were trapped. Before crews arrived, one of the patients was able to self-extricate.

First-arriving units found one vehicle partially in the roadway with moderate damage and a second vehicle off the edge of a hill, also sustaining moderate damage. Entrapment was confirmed, and firefighters immediately began stabilization and extrication operations. The remaining trapped patient was successfully extricated and sustained minor injuries.

Seven firefighters, one engine, one rescue, and one tanker from the Goshen Fire District responded to the incident.

Yesterday, the Goshen Fire District had the honor of paying our final respects to retired Lieutenant Allan Barber.

Following Allan’s celebration of life, members of our department escorted his urn aboard a fire apparatus to Goshen Fire Station 1 — a place that Allan spent countless hours serving his department and his community. There, surrounded by fellow firefighters, Allan received his final call.

Allan was much more than a former member of our department. He was a dedicated firefighter, a valued friend, and someone who gave selflessly of his time in service to others. His impact on our department and the people who had the privilege of serving alongside him will not be forgotten.

It was our privilege to bring Allan home to the station one final time and to honor his years of faithful service.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with Allan’s family, friends, and all those who knew and loved him.

Rest easy, Lieutenant. We’ll take it from here.

At 3:13 PM on August 12, 2026, the Goshen Fire District was dispatched to a grass fire in the 13000 block of Goshen Tuttle Road.

GFD personnel immediately responded with a brush truck from Station 1 and an engine from Station 2. The first arriving unit found approximately one-quarter acre burning beneath an electrical pole, with the fire spreading toward two nearby structures.

Firefighters immediately initiated fire attack using the brush truck. Upon arrival, the engine established a water supply to support suppression efforts. Crews quickly brought the fire under control, preventing the fire from reaching either structure.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and both structures remained unharmed.

Four firefighters, one brush truck, and one engine from the Goshen Fire District responded to the incident.

At 9:43 PM on May 22, 2026, the Goshen Fire District was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment in the 22000 block of South Highway 45.

Two engines responded immediately and were shortly supported by a brush truck and a rescue unit. Upon arrival, firefighters located a heavily damaged vehicle off the roadway in a ditch with one patient entrapped inside.

Extrication efforts began immediately, with firefighters removing both driver-side doors and the B-post to safely access and extricate the patient. Following removal from the vehicle, the patient, was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

A total of four apparatus and six firefighters from the Goshen Fire District responded to the incident.

At 7:27 AM on May 4, 2026, units were dispatched to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Waterford Drive and West Bowen Boulevard.

On-duty crews responded immediately and arrived to find two vehicles with moderate damage on the north shoulder of the roadway. Firefighters secured the scene and blocked westbound traffic to provide a safe working area for responding personnel and to allow the arriving ambulance to position safely.

Two patients were evaluated on scene while crews ensured the vehicles were stabilized and hazards mitigated.
