KEEPING THEM HONEST

It is not usually the policy of this page to get involved in politics, but after receiving a third mailer this week from cohorts of the Jerry Rains campaign (full of outlandish lies about Arthur Hulbert), it is time to set the record straight.

In Rains' first mailer (paid for by OK Family Focus), they accused Arthur Hulbert of planning to cut Social Security & Medicare. This is ludicrous; especially since those programs are federal programs that our state reps have absolutely no control over. Nonetheless, Arthur Hulbert has publicly stated that those programs should be preserved.

In the next mailer Rains said that Arthur will close rural schools. Again ... absurd. Arthur is a teacher himself, and has kids in public schools. Arthur Hulbert has been endorsed by the American Federation of Teachers, and is actually running on the slogan of "A Brighter Future", where one of his staples is public education.

The mailer received yesterday said that Arthur would deny healthcare to women and children in OK. Again, this is laughable. Arthur works in the healthcare industry as a physical therapist. He has been endorsed by local physicians such as Dr. Tom Coburn, Dr. Marlon Coleman, etc. Arthur Hulbert is actually a champion in Healthcare.

Maybe Rains should tell us what he is going to do FOR us instead of lying to us about what the other candidate is going to do TO us.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Endorsements for Arthur Hulbert:
1. National Rifle Association
2. American Federation of Teachers
3. National Federation of Independent Businesses
4. Oklahoma Second Amendment Association
5. Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce
6. Tyler Hammon, Past Muskogee Mayor
7. John Harrison, Ritired FTG Superintendent
8. Dr Marlon Coleman
9. Sue Harris- Retired CEO/President of Muskogee Chamber
10. US Senator Tom Coburn
11. Governor Mary Fallin
12. Congressman Tom Cole
13. OK Speaker of the House TW Shannon
