Come join us at the Southern Striper Babes Fishing Tournament at Cedar Mills! Food is being prepared and served by Gordonville Fire and Sherwood Shores Fire to raise funds for both departments!

We are also selling raffle tickets to raise funds for Sherwood Shores Fire. Details for the raffle are posted below! You can purchase tickets now or at the fishing tournament. The raffle will be closed and tickets drawn on June 13th at the end of the tournament.

Sherwood Shores Fire Department is hosting a raffle to raise funds for our all-volunteer department. Details of the raffle are attached below! The winner of the raffle can either accept the prize or apply a $500 credit to another item at Past & Blast. Drawing will occur on June 13th at the end of the Striper Babes Fishing Tournament.

Sherwood Shores Fire was dispatched to a vehicle collision resulting in a vehicle fire at the 1000blk. Lake Rd in Sherwood Shores. Crews quickly responded and extinguished the fire. Fortunately, there were no injuries despite major damage.

April showers brought May flowers, which means it's lake season on Texoma! Before you go out, know what to expect this summer.

⛵ Don't operate vehicles, on land or water, while under the influence.
⚠️ Never leave children unattended, for any reason.
⛈️ Check the forecast before going out, and while on the water, weather changes unexpectedly on Lake Texoma.
🌡️ Stay hydrated and cool off regularly. Extreme heat is the leading cause of weather-related death.
🚸 Watch for children, school is out soon, meaning more pedestrians during the day.

Sherwood Shores Fire was dispatched to a structure fire on the 600blk. Hillcrest Cir. in Sherwood Shores. With the assistance of Whitesboro Fire, crews quickly attacked and extinguished the fire. Strong work!

Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop along and ahead of an incoming cold front this afternoon and evening. The timing for Grayson County looks to be 1pm-7pm.

The primary severe hazards will be:
• Hail potentially greater than baseballs (3.5” or larger in diameter)
• Damaging winds
• A potential for tornados
• Flash Flooding

Stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings.
