Friends of the Gordon Library

We have some sweet news to share, Friends of the Gordon Library! 📚🎃

The ghosts are in the stacks, the ghouls are on the prowl,
But we’ve got plenty of sweets before the werewolves start to howl!

Our annual Trick-or-Treat event is creeping up real fast,
And the Friends have stepped right up to make it a spooky blast.

We have helped donate the funds to buy the candy and the treats,
To hand out to the little monsters walking on our streets!

From chocolate bars to lollipops, the cauldrons will be high,
Ensuring lots of happy smiles as costumed kids walk by.

We love funding fun festivities that bring our neighborhood cheer,
And supporting this great library each season of the year!

Have a safe and Happy Halloween, everyone! 🍬🕸️

Awww!!! Thank you, MGRL!! We are honored! 💕🎉

Friends of the Library groups play a vital role in supporting and advocating for our public libraries in ways that benefit all patrons.

Today we’d like to highlight the Friends of the Gordon Library volunteers for National Friends of Libraries Week! Their gifts, beautification work, and fundraising events continue to make the Gordon Public Library a vibrant and welcoming space for everyone.

We are so thankful for their efforts to support this library in offering engaging activities and incentives that promote literacy in Wilkinson County.

The Friends of the Library are volunteers who believe that excellent public libraries are a much-needed resource for our community.

Another great garden workday at the Gordon Public Library today! These ladies (and gents 😉) weeded garden beds, pulled dandelions, measured for new irrigation and sooo much more!

If you're loving the new look of the library with all its pretty plantings - hug a Wilkinson County Master Gardener today! 🌸🌱

🧱 BUY A BRICK, BUILD A FUTURE! 🧱

The Friends of the Gordon Library invites you to be a permanent part of our community’s story!

✨ We are launching our “Commemorative Brick” fundraiser project for the Gordon Public Library and we want YOU to join us!

Why join the foundation?
Your purchase funds the vital “extras” that tax dollars don’t cover:
☀️ Expanding children’s summer reading programs 🧒📚

🎉 Hosting exciting local events

Each customized brick will be installed in our beautiful new walkway—a lasting tribute to families, local businesses, or loved ones. ❤️

Whether you’re honoring a lifelong reader or promoting your business, your tax-deductible donation keeps our library a vibrant hub for generations to come! 🏛️💫

🎯 OUR GOAL: In a special tribute to National Family Literacy Day, we are aiming to lay 100 bricks by November 1, 2026.

Every brick ordered will be held until we hit that 100-brick milestone, ensuring our collective impact is felt all at once! 🤝🏗️
