The Town of Gordon’s Spring Fling scheduled for May 30th will be postponed as we continue preparations for an even bigger and better summer season for our community. THE WATERMELON FEST!
With several major events happening across the area on the same date, we believe this is the best opportunity to focus our efforts on making the upcoming Watermelon Fest in July the best it has ever been! πŸ‰πŸŽΆ

The Town of Gordon was glad to host the Commission Chairman Brandon Shoupe, Scott Trotter, Emily Vansyoc, Mike Schmitz, and Matt Parker of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce for our "Golden Expansion Plan". The town of Gordon has some amazing projects and plans in the future and we appreciate all of those involved in making it happen!

Alabama Power is Coming to the Town of Gordon!
As part of the Golden Expansion Plan, Alabama Power will be conducting a Street Light Assessment throughout the Town of Gordon.

Alabama Power representatives will:
Evaluate current street lighting
Identify dark or low-visibility areas
Assess locations where additional lighting may improve safety
Review infrastructure for future expansion

🌿 REMINDER: COMMUNITY CLEANUP DAY IS COMING UP! 🌿

The Town of Gordon is getting ready for our upcoming Community Cleanup Day Saturday Feb 21st from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M., and we need your help to make it a success! πŸ’ͺ🏾🌎

We are still looking to borrow or receive donations of the following equipment to assist our volunteers:
βœ… Hoses
βœ… ️Brushes(To Scrub Homes)
βœ… Pressure Washers & Cleaner(For homes)
βœ… Trash Grabbers
βœ… Gardening Spades (for planting flowers)
βœ… Gardening Gloves
βœ…οΈ Safety Vests.
All equipment will be used responsibly and returned promptly after the event.

⏰ 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The Pavilion at Mickels Park
Gordon Park Road, Gordon, AL
(Stop here first to get information and be assigned tasks.)

🧀 Volunteers are needed to help with:
β€’ Trash pickup
β€’ Planting trees and flowers
β€’ Pressure washing homes
β€’ Debris removal

CHIEF OF POLICE
The Town of Gordon is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and community-focused Police Chief to lead and manage the Gordon Police Department.
This is a leadership position for a professional law enforcement executive committed to integrity, accountability, and public trust.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Chief of Police is responsible for the overall administration, operations, and strategic direction of the Police Department, including:
Supervision and leadership of sworn personnel
Enforcement of local, state, and federal laws
Community policing and public engagement
Budget oversight and departmental policy development
Collaboration with elected officials and community partners.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior command or supervisory law enforcement experience
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Commitment to ethical policing and community-oriented practices
Alabama law enforcement certification (or ability to obtain)
