Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 8th Annual Superhero 5K this weekend! We had a great time racing (or strolling) around the NASCAR track to some great tunes. We appreciate your support and love seeing all of your costumes!

Join us on Saturday, February 28th, for our 8th Annual Superhero 5K, organized by Put on the Cape! Whether you are a competitive runner or someone who is looking for a fun run or walk, this is your opportunity to complete a 5K on the historic NASCAR track!

Registration and pre-race fun starts at 7:30am, the Avondale Toyota HOT LAP starts at 9:00am, and the Superhero 5K is from 9:20am to 11:30am.

Please bring your own reusable water bottle. All participants will receive an event t-shirt!

Thank you to the caring and dedicated SWFAC staff, our Friends of the Southwest Family Advocacy Center board, our wonderful partner agencies, and the beautiful families we serve for making Winter Wonderland 2025 such a success! Holiday magic was in the air with Santa, presents, games, crafts, and even special reptile guests from Estrella Mountain Community College. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this a joyful day.

⭐️ FREE training opportunity for Arizona’s Mandated Reporters!

Many cases of child maltreatment go unreported due to mandated reporters missing early signs of abuse and neglect, and the uncertainty about what to expect when a report is made.

This training is designed to enhance the confidence of mandated reporters by providing them with the tools to responsibly receive a disclosure, understand their legal obligations and protections, and inform them about what to expect when a report is necessary and law enforcement and DCS respond. You will also learn the importance of supporting families to reduce stress and enhance child welfare, and about the trauma-informed coordination of services at the FAC as it relates to investigations of and responding to reports of child maltreatment.
