Fireworks Safety Reminder!

Stop by the Goodyear Library and pick up fireworks safety information before your celebration.

Did you know a sparkler can reach temperatures of up to 1,200°F—hot enough to melt glass?

While sparklers may seem harmless, they can cause serious burns, especially to children.

For a safer alternative, choose glow sticks instead of a burning rod.

When you're done with fireworks, place all used fireworks and sparklers in a bucket full of water and let them soak overnight. This helps ensure they are completely extinguished before disposal.

Let's make this a fun and burn-free holiday season!

Having working smoke alarms is a simple and not expensive way to save lives. Home owner or renting, your life matters-check the date of the alarms and if they are over 10 years old please replace them.
Add this to your normal maintenance schedule, test once a month and practice your home escape plan.

FPW 2026, October 4–10, is all about charging safely. Every day, we rely on rechargeable devices to stay connected, informed, and entertained.

Join firefighters from across Arizona for one of the state's premier training events, featuring more than 35 educational sessions covering Basic Firefighter Skills, Fire Prevention & Investigation, Fire Leadership, and more.

Since 1973, Arizona Fire School has provided high-quality training designed to help firefighters stay prepared, effective, and safe while serving their communities.

Scholarships are available and awarded based on demonstrated need, helping ensure firefighters have access to valuable training opportunities. • Wear a life jacket when appropriate

NFA is open and taking applications!

The National Fire Academy is OPEN for resident classes scheduled through September 30, 2026.

If you are interested in applying for classes to be held now through September, please submit your online application as soon as possible but no later than June 1st. Once courses have been populated, students will be notified of their acceptance/rejection.
