EXPECTATION
Too often we approach God hoping for something to happen, but Scripture teaches us to live with expectation.
Expectation is not demanding that God do things our way. Expectation is trusting that God is always working, even when we cannot see it.
When you come to church, come expecting God to speak.
When you pray, pray expecting God to hear.
When you obey, obey expecting God to move.
The Bible says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Faith looks beyond today's circumstances and believes that God is already at work.
God told us in Jeremiah 29:13, "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." When we seek Him sincerely, we position ourselves to hear His voice and follow His leading.
Sometimes God's answers don't arrive in the package we expected. His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9), and often His greatest blessings come through doors we never would have chosen ourselves.
So don't just attend church—come expecting.
Don't just pray—pray expecting.
Don't just read His Word—read expecting.
Don't just obey—obey expecting.
Because when faith and obedience meet the presence of God, He has a way of doing "exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think" (Ephesians 3:20).
Today, lift your eyes beyond what you see and trust the God who is working behind the scenes. Your next miracle, breakthrough, answer, or season of growth may come in a way you never expected—but it will come from a God who is always faithful.
"I would have fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." — Psalm 27:13
