Northwest Kansas Ambulance Service- Sherman County Providing Emergency Medical Services for Sherman County and the Cities of Goodland, Edson, Ruleton. Two ambulances are on duty 24/7.

Providing Emergency Medical Services for Sherman County and the Cities of Goodland, Edson, Ruleton, Caruso, and Kanarado. NWKSAS has a dedicated staff of Full time, Part time, and Volunteers. NWKSAS provides 911 response for Sherman County and Inter-facility transports for surrounding area hospitals. NWKSAS operates out of one station, in Goodland with 5 ambulances. All five ambulances have advanc

ed life support (ALS) capibilities. We also house the Mass Casualty Equipment Trailer that can be deployed to anywhere in the Northwest Kansas area. One to respond to any 911 calls, and the other to do inter-facility transfers. Secondary or overflow calls are covered by dedicated off-duty staff and/or part-time/volunteer personnel.

🚨 **Young Hero Alert!** 🚨

At just 5 years old, Braden proved that courage and quick thinking can come in the smallest packages. When his beloved dog suddenly stopped breathing, he didn’t panic—he took immediate action.

This brave young man began performing CPR, with perfect form, on his dog until he woke again. Thanks to his determination and big heart, his furry best friend had a fighting chance. 🐾❤️

Stories like this remind us that learning lifesaving skills can make a difference at any age. We are incredibly proud of Braden for staying calm and stepping up when it mattered most.

Please join us in celebrating this young hero and wishing his dog a continued long and happy life! Braden received a certificate, a bracelet, and a challenge coin from our service to accommodate his hard work!

Engineer / Paramedic Saffer and Firefighter / EMT Allen are currently enroute to Liberal Kansas to assist with fires in Southwest Kansas. They are responding with Brush 3 a type 6 engine and are prepared for a 3 day assignment! Safe travels gentlemen!

B Shift made an important stop today. Hydration is serious business, after all. 😄

We swung by Filthy Fizz (at the hospital until 2pm if you’re also interested!) to grab some cold drinks, share some laughs, and enjoy a quick moment with the community we’re proud to serve.

Strong crews run on teamwork, training, and occasionally a really good soda, if you ask us!🥤🚑
