Intermountain Gas Company will be in the Gooding area checking service connections while all of the construction is ongoing. This will include connections on and lines into private property. Their employees should be driving a company vehicle with their logo and wearing high visibility vests as well as an Identificatuin card / necklace. Who is missing their fur baby. We don't recognize this little boy. He was picked trying to get donuts yesterday morning at M & W Market here in Gooding. The Gooding Dog Pound is not manned this week as the dog catcher is on a short vacation so contact dispatch for the duty police officer at 208 324-1911.

Update, 9 May, 2026:
This afternoon we were advised that Jose and his vehicle had been located by the Elmore County Sheriff's Office about two miles east of Featherville. Unfortunately he had passed and recovery is in process. We do not have further information at this time, but foul play is not suspected. Our condolences go out to all those in Jose's family who have been advised.

Update: Jose is believed to have been along Anderson Reservoir before Pine on Friday/Saturday. Officers and others in area are checking but no sign of him has been found yet.

Please help us locate 36 year old Jose Jimenez Ruiz. He received some sad news yesterday and is distraught. He was last seen about 1:30 on Friday, 4-24-2026 driving north from Gooding on Highway 46 in a light blue (almost silver) 2003 Honda Civic, Idaho license 2J3406U. He was wearing a brown jacket, plaid shirt and jeans. If found, please notify the Gooding Police Department Dispatch at (208) 324-1911.

Tomorrow is the annual walk to school day in Gooding. It will begin at M&W Market at about 7:15 am, then over to 7th Avenue West and onto the schools. They should walk in the sidewalk area but, there will much more than usual so please use caution.

A company is trenching a very small line in the same area and have a line of cones all along 7th which actually will increase safety this year for the kids but, the road will also be narrowed while they do this work. Again, exercise caution.

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the passing of our Police K-9 "Doc" after a sudden illness that he was being treated for. We will miss his enthusiasm and personality. He was a gorgeous and smart dog. He was one the youngest ever to be certified for narcotic detection at just under a year of age. Our family of blue will miss him dearly.

It's Fireworks season. Please be respectful of others regarding noise, trash, and fire safety. In a nutshell, anything that travels or shoots sparks or burning material over 20 high or outside of a 20 foot diameter are illegal. Firecrackers and similar items are as well.

Today is the day. This event was rescheduled from 2 weeks ago due to poor weather. Look for it where the Gooding Farmers Market is usually held. $50 for updated shots and maybe find a new companion.
