Gonzales Fire Department hosted a station visit for the Spring Camp students. The students learned about fire safety, various tools, and Personal Protective Equipment that firefighters wear and use during emergencies. Thank you for visiting!

Last fourth of July a Gonzales family lost their home and most of their possessions due to a fire caused by ILLEGAL FIREWORKS. Do not let this happen again, protect your neighbors, and your community. Do not use ILLEGAL FIREWORKS to celebrate this year! Please Share! For June 13, June 14, and June 15, Gonzales Fire Department will be conducting prescribed burns in the slough. With the summer and July 4th approaching, this will help with any accidental fires. Tuesday, June 13, will be the start of the burns and it will be the slough area behind the Gonzales Pool. All burns will start in the early morning. If you live near the slough please remember to bring all animals inside, close your windows if you are sensitive to smoke, and don’t be alarmed if you see smoke.

Gonzales Fire Department and Monterey County Regional Fire Protection District (Station 2) were able train while on duty. The training consisted of using a water tender for a water source instead of a fire hydrant, which is a scenario that either fire district can experience.

The Gonzales River Road bridge is closed and may be closed for several weeks. We have made plans with our neighboring fire agencies to provide service to the River Road corridor however response times will be greatly extended! Please be extra careful as you pass through the area.
