Goliad American Legion Ewell Compton Post 193 Original Charter on April 12, 1920. On January 9, 1947 the post was granted approval to change the Post name to Ewell-Compton Post #193.

S 2/C Thomas Compton (U.S. Navy) was the first person from Goliad, Texas to lose his life in WWII.

Congratulations to Goliad High School Senior Noah Blevins. Noah was selected by the Goliad American Legion to participate in the 2026 Texas Boys State program. The event took Noah to the University of Texas campus where he spent a week participating in an in-depth study and simulation of our American government.

The American Legion will sponsor another junior for the 2027 Texas Boys State. If you are interested, reach out to the Goliad American Legion.
