With the recent detection of New World Screwworm (NWS) in Texas, the Victoria Office of Emergency Management (VOEM) is actively monitoring the situation, and at this time, there are no suspected or confirmed cases in Victoria County.
VOEM encourages residents to Inspect, Report, and Stay Informed.

What you can do:
โข Inspect livestock and pets daily
โข Treat wounds promptly

Food Safety Reminder:
According to the USDA, the U.S. food supply remains safe. NWS does not infest meat, fruits, vegetables, or other food products. Any affected animal would be identified during inspection, ensuring no contaminated products enter the food supply.
