Even though I had been in the office 10 years with experience in running payroll my office started 2023 with new payroll software, that was an experience in itself!! But I got it down! In the middle of training in New software we relocated our office, due to leaky roof we're no longer in the courthouse.
I've attended Texas Funds Investment and Treasurer's seminars.( informative/educational) I've received my hours needed for the year.
In my office there's only 2 of us, its myself and my Assistant Michelle. Throughout the year she and I have organized/ hosted potluck luncheons, Family Day (for all county employees and family), Co.Health and Wellness Fair. I've been very blessed to have employees and other elected officials donate their time, food and help so all this can be achieved at no cost to the county. My reason for doing this is as HR Director my hopes are to improve and maintain a more positive work relationship between departments and each other.
So with that all being said, there's so much more that I haven't listed my workload is heavy but it gets done.
What's next.. well we just hosted Thanksgiving luncheon so Christmas is next then we get to start over. 2024 W2, end of quarter /end of year closing and then off to an Investment seminar in February 2024. It just all goes so fast!!

Yay I can post on my page again!!
Its been almost a year since my last post not sure what I did but apparently I somehow removed myself as someone that can post on her own page 🤣 Either I did it or Facebook blocked me?? Who knows and doesn't matter, I'm back on!! So an update is needed on my 1st year as County Treasurer, but first let me post this and make sure it works then I'll follow up with a different post.
