The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division hosted a Multi-Agency High-Visibility Saturation Event on May 27, 2026. The operation focused on major thoroughfares throughout northern Wayne County, including areas within the Goldsboro city limits.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Forensic Tests for Alcohol BAT Mobile Unit was deployed in support of the operation. Personnel from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office DWI Task Force, Violent Prevention Response Team (ViPR), Detective Division, School Resource Officer Division, Patrol Division, and Detention Center participated in the event.
Several law enforcement agencies from across eastern North Carolina also assisted, including the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, Pender County Sheriff’s Office, Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, Goldsboro Police Department, Mount Olive Police Department, Pikeville Police Department, Fremont Police Department, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
A total of 49 law enforcement officers from Wayne County and neighboring jurisdictions participated in the operation with a common goal: removing impaired drivers from the roadway and enhancing public safety.
The operation resulted in the following enforcement actions:
• DWI-related offenses: 9
• Other traffic offenses: 29
• Restraint-related offenses: 14
• Misdemeanor drug violations: 2
• Driving while license revoked: 18
• Other misdemeanor violations: 2
• No operator’s license: 12
• Wanted persons apprehended: 2
• Speeding violations: 31
• Fi****ms recovered: 5
• Reckless driving: 2
• Warnings issued: 31
• Registration violations: 22
• No insurance: 9
Total Charges Issued: 152
