Behind every emergency response is a vehicle that has to work. A new partnership between the Arvada Fire Protection District and Warren Tech is giving students real-world experience in a career field that desperately needs them. 🚒

Fire departments face a shortage of mechanics crucial for emergency vehicle maintenance. Arvada Fire's new internship program aims to build a workforce pipeline.

Tyler Guyton used his voice to make an impact. As a student spokesperson at Evergreen High School, he stepped into leadership during a challenging year, creating space for others to feel heard and supported.

That leadership opened doors, including the opportunity to attend the State of the Union, shaping his path toward political science and public service. Now a recent graduate, he's ready for what’s next.

Just in time for summer, the Golden High School Mountain Bike Team built and delivered 36 bikes and helmets to Deane Elementary students through Wish for Wheels. Tire by tire, handlebar by handlebar, these student-athletes put in the work. The payoff? Watching younger kids ride for the very first time. This is our community, our legacy in action.

Two teams of eighth graders from The Manning School recently traveled to NASA's Johnson Space Center to present year-long engineering projects — including a 3D-printed chess set made from recycled plastic and biodegradable medicine packaging for space missions.

Through the HUNCH program, Manning students register as official NASA contractors, and their designs could one day be patented and launched into space. Manning is one of only a few middle schools in the country invited to participate.

Way to go, students! 🚀

Eighth graders at the Manning School of Academics and Arts in Golden just presented their projects at the Johnson Space Center.

Capstone gives students the opportunity to reflect on who they are, explore future career paths and share what they’ve learned along the way. For Wheat Ridge High School senior Iliana, that journey led her into the healthcare field. Through research, internships, job shadowing and hands-on learning experiences, Iliana discovered a passion for becoming a surgical technician while also earning her CNA certification and building confidence in herself and her future.

This capstone story is part of Jeffco Public Schools’ broader vision for Senior Sign Off, helping students connect their learning to life beyond high school.
