Two great Golden businesses, one killer workout, four Fridays in a row ✨

Starting next Friday morning, September 11, at 9:30 a.m., Unite Fitness is partnering with The Golden Mill to hold full-body barre classes on the Golden Mill roof deck. Expect an upbeat, welcoming class with spectacular views.

All fitness levels are welcome. The 55-minute class series runs from Friday, September 11, through October 2.

• Enjoy a hands-on demonstration by mixed-media artist Lynn Allbright from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Historic Astor House, 1133 Arapahoe Street, in downtown Golden. The event is free!

Friday, September 4: The Burgundy Ties at the Golden Mill
• Starting Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., come see the Burgundy Ties, the Midwest rock band with more than 20 years of performances under their belts. They'll also be performing Saturday and Sunday if it's easier to catch them! The Golden Mill is at 1012 Ford Street, Golden.

Sunday, September 6: Board Game Night at Mountain Toad
• From 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., come and play your favorite board games at Mountain Toad Brewing in Golden and save $1 on pints while doing it! Though Mountain Toad does have board games, they recommend bringing your own if you have something specific you want to play.

Sending season inbound 🧗‍♀️. Clear Creek Canyon is on our doorstep, and it's one of the premier destinations in the Front Range for sport climbers. We'd love to keep it that way.

Some reminders before you hit the crag:

•Have a plan for your 💩. You can purchase wag bags in Golden at any of the various outdoor shops! Most of the 'trailheads' are just pull-offs on the highway, and don't have bathrooms.
•Don't litter, and if you see trash that is safe to pick up, pack it out with you. If you're reading this and think this is obvious...we'd love to think that, too.
•Check for closures. There isn't great cell phone reception, and if you get to a crag and find it's closed for nesting raptors or for maintenance, and can't pivot, that'd be a bummer.

Be safe out there! Hit any number of Golden's restaurants or breweries for your post-send recovery.

Friday, August 28: Lookout Mountain Full Moon Ride – Sturgeon Moon 🚵‍♀️
• Starting at 9:00 p.m., this free community ride up Golden's Lookout Mountain (front and rear lights required) under the glow of a full moon is a great way to pedal off into the weekend.

Saturday, August 29: Denver Taiko 50th Anniversary- Keio Kairai 🥁
• Starting at 7:00 p.m., see a special performance from the community-based group, Denver Taiko, who share the art of Japanese drumming. This special 50th anniversary show is 'Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future'. The show will be at Colorado School of Mines Bunker Auditorium, 924 16th St., Golden.

Sunday, August 30: Yoga with Rise at the Eddy Lawn 🧘‍♀️
• Starting at 8:00 a.m., this Fit Flow class is free and open to members of the public and Eddy guests. Get a full body workout on the beautiful Eddy Lawn! Participants are required to sign a waiver and bring their own mats.

Got Saturday morning plans? Now you do 🐐

The City of Golden's highly popular baby goat yoga experience still has a few slots available, but you better hop on them before they get scooped!

The class is from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, in Lions Park. After 45 minutes of yoga, you'll have 15 minutes of one-on-one bonding time with the babies, and an opportunity to bottle feed them.

Registration is only open through tonight, so hurry!
