Last month at Wolf Park, our firefighters had a great time at Golden Junior Little League Opening Day, signing autographs, connecting with families, and throwing out the first pitch. Thanks for having us GJBA! ⚾

Heads Up, Pleasant View Neighbors — New Wildfire Building Code is Here

Colorado has adopted the new Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code, and while most of Pleasant View is not affected, some of our outlying areas near open space and wildland vegetation do fall within the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) — the zones where this new code applies.

What does this mean for you? ✅ If your home is in a WUI area and you're building new, adding on (500+ sq ft), or replacing 25%+ of your roof or exterior walls — new fire-resistant materials and defensible space requirements apply. ✅ If you're NOT in a WUI area — no changes to your building requirements. ✅ Already built your home? Existing homes don't need to be retrofitted just because the code was adopted.

Not sure if your property is in a WUI area? Jefferson County is working on official maps. We'll share those as soon as they're available. You can also visit: 🔗 https://dfpc.colorado.gov/colorado-wildfire-resiliency-code

101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code as adopted by [NAME OF JURISDICTION], hereinafter referred to as “this code.”

Please take this survey from Jefferson County on road safety:

Dear Community Stakeholder Organizations,

Jefferson County is developing a Vision Zero Safety Action Plan to look at where traffic crashes happen, what makes them more likely, and determine how to make our roads safer for everyone. Below are upcoming opportunities for public input. We are asking you to participate, give input, and to help get the word out. Below is a message to share with your community members and memberships.

Jefferson County wants to make our streets safer for everyone.

Working in partnership with Lakewood, Edgewater, Golden, Lakeside, Lakewood, Morrison, Mountain View, and Wheat Ridge, Jefferson County is working to create a Regional Jefferson County Vision Zero Safety Action Plan (VZSAP). Our goal is called “Vision Zero,” which means we are striving towards zero deaths or serious injuries from traffic crashes.

Jefferson County wants to hear from you! We to learn how community members move through the County — walking, biking, driving, taking the bus — and where people feel unsafe along the way. Community input will help the Project Team understand the types of safety projects that may have the greatest impact and where they are needed most.

There are two ways you can get involved:

Join the Online Public Meeting: Join our online public meeting on 12/11/2025 from 5:30-7:00 pm. Register here [us02web.zoom.us].
To request language interpretation for the meeting, please contact [email protected] at least two business days prior to the meeting.

Take the Online Survey: Tell us where you feel unsafe walking, biking, riding the bus, or driving by taking a brief survey. [experience.arcgis.com]

Visit the VZSAP website [experience.arcgis.com] to learn more and stay informed. Your involvement and input will help create safer roads for all users!

The parks have seen high use in the past few years. More people with dogs have moved to our quiet little area. Let's all be courteous, keep our dogs on leashes, and respect owners and dogs who don't want to socialize.

This is Orchard Street Park. After thousands of dollars in new sod, someone thought it would be cute to do this. It’s too late in the season to lay down new sod. If you know anything about this, please let the office know.
