Golden City Council declared the month of September as National Su***de Prevention and Recovery Month. The City of Golden proudly supports mental health needs across the community through its hard working co-responders.

The week of September 13 - 19 is also National Co-Responder and Crisis Responder Week, so we thought we'd highlight the important work these public servants do for Golden.

Co-responders help people understand mental health services and connect with the care and resources they may need. They often respond when someone experiencing a mental health crisis is involved in a 911 call. They assess immediate safety concerns and help identify other needs, such as housing, medical care, finances, family support, or social services.

Co-responders also provide mental health training to Golden police officers, other City employees, Jefferson County dispatchers and community members. They help people connect with community organizations for ongoing treatment, support, and other services.
Beyond emergency calls, co-responders work throughout the community to connect people with helpful programs and resources available through the City of Golden and other local organizations.
