🇺🇸🎄 Holiday Cards for Our Military! 🎄🇺🇸

The Goffstown Police Department is excited to announce that we will be coordinating Holiday Cards for Our Military!

This program will not replace our beloved holiday card program for seniors in town—we know how much our community enjoys participating in that tradition. Instead, this is an extension of our program and an opportunity to spread gratitude, support, and appreciation to our deployed U.S. troops.

Let’s come together as a community to share positive thoughts, words of encouragement, and a little holiday cheer with our service members who are away from their loved ones during the holiday season. ❤️🇺🇸

Card Drop-Off:
A collection box will be available in the Goffstown Police Department lobby through November 5th. This will allow us enough time to review the cards and have them shipped around the world before the holiday season.

Please see the attached rules and guidelines. Every card will be reviewed to ensure that it is respectful and appropriate before being sent.

Cards do NOT need to be purchased! Homemade cards are absolutely welcome. If you’d rather make a card yourself, we encourage you to get creative and make something special.

Let’s show our troops that Goffstown is thinking of them and grateful for their service and sacrifice. 🇺🇸❤️

Congratulations to Officer Jason Ouellette on his Retirement. Officer Ouellette has been with the Goffstown Police Department since December of 2003. During his time with us he became a field training officer and helped train the next generation of police officers. He also worked as a detective. During his time as a detective, he worked with the Hillsborough County Street Crime Task Force and the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He also received the Officer of the Year award and achieved the rank of Master Patrolman. Thank you for your 23 years of service to the Town of Goffstown. We wish you luck on your next journey.

🚨With school starting up next week, let's talk School Zones 🚨

Town Ordinance 201.3.8 identifies the location of our two marked school zones in town.
- Maple Ave School Zone: Elm Street from PSNH Substation to 3 Elm St.
- Bartlett School Zone: Mast Road from intersection of Roosevelt St to Eden Street.

NH RSA 265:60 Basic Rule and Maximum Limits- states:

"In a posted school zone, at a speed of 10 miles per hour below the usual posted limit from 45 minutes prior to each school opening until each school opening and from each school closing until 45 minutes after each school closing."

What this means:
✅If the school zone lights are flashing, the speed limit is 20mph throughout the ENTIRETY of the school zone.

What this does not mean:
❎Increase your speed once you have passed the crossing guard.
❎Increase your speed because you have been waiting on Maple Ave too long and are frustrated.
❎Increase your speed because you do not see children around or the crossing guard is not there.

Fines for speed in NH start at $62 and increase every 5mph you are over!

Please join us in welcoming our newest graduate of the 203rd New Hampshire Police Academy, Officer Mancini!

Officer Mancini will hit the ground running this Monday as she begins her Field Training with her FTO. We are incredibly excited to have her join our team!

We are also excited to announce that Officer Jack Manning will be entering the 204th New Hampshire Police Academy this Monday to begin his 16-week journey. We wish him the very best of luck as he takes on this exciting next step in his career!

Officer Mancini and Officer Manning will both be wonderful additions to our agency, and we are proud to have them serving our community.

If you see Officer Mancini out and about, please feel free to give her a wave 👋 or say hello! Let’s show her a warm welcome to the community!

Last week, Chief Sereno and Accreditation Manager Michelle Provencher attended the CALEA conference in Omaha, NE where the Goffstown Police Department received its 11th CALEA accreditation award!
There are less than 25 CALEA certified agencies in New Hampshire and GPD is proud to say that we have been one of those departments since 1992.
A huge thank you and congratulations to Michelle for completing her 20th year as Accreditation Manager. Your commitment and dedication to this department is unmatched and we are so thankful to have you as a leader on our team.

Please note that new signs have been posted at Glen Lake School regarding overflow parking for Glen Lake Beach. There is available overflow parking at Glen Lake School for residents with permits only. Trailers are prohibited from parking in the school parking lot and will be ticketed.
