Manchester Water Works conducted mandatory annual testing and flushing of local fire hydrants last night in Pinardville. This routine maintenance checks water flow and pressure to make sure our systems are fully operational and ready to save lives when seconds count.

How This Affects Your Water:
Discoloration: You may notice temporary brown, cloudy, or rusty tap water. This happens because flushing stirs up naturally occurring sediment inside the water mains.
Safety: The water remains entirely safe and does not pose a health hazard.

What You Should Do:
Avoid washing white laundry or drinking discolored water until it clears up.
If you notice discoloration, simply run your cold water taps or an outside faucet for 3 to 5 minutes until the water flows clear again.
If the cloudiness persists, turn the tap off, wait an hour, and try running the cold water again.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe!

βš“ Keep your summer on New Hampshire's waters safe! Whether you're heading to Lake Winnipesaukee, the seacoast, or right here on Glen Lake, remember these quick safety essentials:

Wear It: Every person needs a life jacket. Kids 12 and under must wear theirs while underway.
Fire Safety: Motorized boats must carry a charged, accessible fire extinguisher.
Clip In: Always use your engine cut-off switch lanyard to prevent runaway boats.
Sober Captain: Operating a boat under the influence is illegal and dangerous. Designate a sober operator.
Check the Sky: New England weather changes fast. Head to shore if a storm rolls in.

Our team is ready, but your preparation is the best defense. Safe boating! 🚀

UPDATE 4/29/26 @ 1245
TEMPORARY BURN BAN REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. ONLINE PERMITS HAVE BEEN SHUT DOWN.

πŸ”₯ IMPORTANT NOTICE: TEMPORARY BURN BAN IN EFFECT πŸ”₯

Due to current dry conditions and high fire danger levels, the Goffstown Fire Department is issuing an immediate temporary burn ban for our community.

What this means:
🚫 No brush piles or yard waste fires.
🚫 No recreational campfires or fire pits.
🚫 No agricultural burning.
🚫 All previously issued burn permits are suspended until further notice.

Afternoon relative humidity values will decrease to low levels between 25-35 percent away from the coastline. At the same time, southeasterly winds between 5-15 mph with frequent gusts to 20-25 mph will continue to dry fuels and increase fire spread potential.

We will re-evaluate conditions tomorrow afternoon and post an update. Thank you for your cooperation and for doing your part to keep Goffstown safe.

🚨 HIGH FIRE DANGER ALERT 🚨
New Hampshire is currently facing severe drought conditions, with approximately 78% of the state in moderate to severe drought. With low humidity and gusty winds, the risk for fast-moving brush fires is extremely high right now.

To keep our community safe, please follow these guidelines:
🚭 PROPER DISPOSAL: Never toss cigarette butts out of car windows or onto the ground.
πŸš— PARK ON PAVEMENT: Avoid parking vehicles on dry grass; hot exhaust systems can easily ignite dry vegetation.
🏠 CLEAR DEBRIS: Remove dry leaves and pine needles from your gutters and from within 5 feet of your home.
πŸ“ž REPORT IMMEDIATELY: If you see smoke or an unattended fire, call 911 right away.

Stay alert and help us keep New Hampshire green! 🌲
