✔ Re-centered instruction around teachers instead of screens

This is not “going backwards.”
This is correcting course.

For years, parents raising concerns about EdTech were dismissed as outdated, anti-technology, or resistant to change. Meanwhile, reading scores dropped, attention spans collapsed, classroom distraction skyrocketed, and students became increasingly dependent on screens for even basic learning tasks.

Argyle didn’t just acknowledge the problem. They acted.

This is innovation.
This is courage.
This is what putting kids before convenience actually looks like.

I wanted to remind you all of some things I took very seriously during my tenure on the board, and I urge new members to pick up the torch. I want to remind you about the oath you took to uphold the constitution and all laws. Allow the public to speak on any item, including non agenda items, don’t interrupt them, give them their 3 minutes, which is their first amendment right. Transparency, post your boardbook documents with your agendas for the public, it’s not hard, the city of Godley does it and many other districts do it. Create a policy such as the GKG Local template I provided previously, which would be a stricter background check policy for volunteers so questionable volunteers do not slip through the cracks. Check the monthly library purchase list, look at amazon reviews, look them up on takebacktheclassroom.com and don’t allow sexually explicit books in our school libraries. Reign in spending and discontinue the history of maxing out your allowable tax rate, the taxpayers are suffering. Provide more than a 5 page budget, be transparent with where the money is going. You did not post your budget tonight with your agenda for the public, which you are required to per TX Gov Code Sec 551.043, I did not receive the requested document until 1:16pm today, and I see now why you did not want to post it for the public, a proposed 2.4% budget increase. This is not fiscally responsible! Also, Pay off debt and stop asking for more debt via bonds; according to the BRB Godley currently has $77,520 debt per student/ADA. Lastly, the Amplify/Bluebonnet Math curriculum you are voting on tonight, I urge you to vote no, it is experimental and has no evidence of improving outcomes in other districts, and is based on a very woke curriculum out of NY. FWISD is using both of these curriculums and look at them, teachers fleeing over scripted and timed lessons, and no books in kinder for months. You all have a very important job, you are not here to be a cheerleader, you are here to represent the taxpayers and guard the hearts and minds of children. Their future depends on you!
