Have some great Gloucester neighborhood memories to share? We KNOW you do! Join us on Thursday, June 18 at 1:00 PM at the Rose Baker Center to learn about Mapping Memory: Gloucester's Oral History Project, a new initiative from the Sawyer Free Library's Local History Research Center. Whether you've lived in Gloucester your whole life, have family stories to share, know someone whose experiences should be preserved, or have photographs and mementos that capture life in our neighborhoods, this project offers an opportunity to help document Gloucester's rich history for future generations.
Come learn how you can participate and ensure that the stories of Annisquam, Bay View, Downtown, East Gloucester, Folly Cove, Lanesville, Magnolia, Riverdale, Riverview, and West Gloucester continue to be told.
Free and open to all. Please register in person at the Rose Baker Front Desk or by calling Natalia at 978-325-5812. For more information, visit sawyerfreelibrary.org/mapping-memory.

This is an overdue thank you to our amazing community who celebrated our Ribbon Cutting & Resource Fair with us last week. Our special thanks go out to Mayor Paul Lundberg, City of Gloucester, Rep. Dru Tarr, and the Office of State Senator Bruce Tarr for providing remarks and citations to mark the occasion. More thanks go out to our Resource Fair participants: Action Inc., Cape Ann Transportation Authority, Cape Ann YMCA, Element Care PACE, TownGreen, Sawyer Free Library, Day By Day, SeniorCare Inc., Gloucester, MA Health Department, Gloucester Community Development, and The Open Door. More thanks still go to 1623 Studios for recording the event and as always to our amazing board, staff, and volunteers. Jim 'n' Tonic rocked the party and a good time was had by all. A 25 year anniversary doesn't happen everyday and this community really showed up to celebrate. The Rose Baker Center for Aging Well is off to a great start thanks to everyone mentioned above as well as the Massachusetts Councils on Aging for grant funding our rebranding initiative. Now on to the next 25 years!
