Gloucester Public Schools Launches New page

Residents came down to the East Gloucester School Tuesday night to learn more about the semifinalist names announced for the merged Veterans and East Gloucester School that is currently under construction.
At the forum, residents offered feedback on their preferred choices to student leaders and asked questions about the process and timeline in naming the school.
A student-led Nominations Committee narrowed down a list of more than 50 unique names submitted by the public for consideration to 10 semifinalists for what to call the new combined East Gloucester/Veterans School building that is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2023.
The semifinalists are Cape Pond Elementary School, East Coast Elementary School, East Hill Community Elementary School, East Harbor Elementary School, East Veterans Elementary School, Inner Harbor Elementary School, Fisherman's Memorial Elementary School, First Light Elementary School, Gloucester Veterans Elementary School and Seaside Elementary School.
Residents have until Sept. 20 to complete a form and give their input on up to three semifinalist names. The form can be found at https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLSdCCLrmcwr7.../viewform
The Nominations Committee will review all the feedback and nominate up to four finalist names to the School Committee, which makes the final decision on the name.
