Gila County has deployed a self-service sandbag station for residents, located across from the Community Bridges Rehabilitation Center, at 5734 Hope Ln., in Globe.
Residents are welcome to access the station at any time to fill and take sandbags to help protect their homes and property from flooding.
Sand and sandbags will be provided by Gila County; however, everyone must bring their own shovel.

Gila County is grateful to announce that $5 million in state funding has been secured to support local flood recovery efforts.

This funding, included in the Fiscal Year 2027 State Budget, represents one of the most significant state investments in disaster recovery assistance in Gila County's history. The investment will help support ongoing efforts to restore infrastructure, strengthen our communities, and address long-term recovery needs.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Governor Katie Hobbs, our legislative delegation, legislative leadership, and our legislative advocates for recognizing the needs of our communities and helping secure these critical resources.

Recovery is a long-term process, but this investment will help Gila County continue rebuilding and moving forward. Together, we are building a stronger future for Gila County.

𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐆𝐮𝐥𝐜𝐡 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥

Gila County Public Works would like to inform residents that, effective after 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, Saturday Dollar Dump Days at the Russell Gulch Landfill will be temporarily suspended due to ongoing construction activities.

While the landfill will remain open and continue normal operations during construction, 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 will be paused to help reduce traffic volume and ensure the safety of customers, employees, and contractors working on-site.

Construction is currently underway on a new landfill cell, an important improvement that will help meet the County's future solid waste disposal needs. We anticipate reopening 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬 in 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, once construction is complete and the new cell is operational.

We appreciate the public's patience and understanding as we complete these important improvements. Updates regarding the reopening of Saturday Dollar Dump Days will be provided as construction progresses.

US 60 between Superior and Miami (mileposts 227-243) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following dates:

🚧 Tuesday, June 9
🚧 Wednesday, June 10
🚧 Thursday, June 11

Detours:
Eastbound: Use southbound State Route 177 through Winkelman to northbound SR 77.
Westbound: Use southbound SR 77 through Winkelman to northbound SR 177.

*NOTE* Due to the roughly 75-mile length of this detour, drivers may want to consider planning travel before 9 a.m. and after 2 p.m. The detour is estimated to add an additional hour for trips between Superior and Miami.

• This might be the only notice you receive. Emergency services cannot guarantee they will be
able to notify everyone if conditions rapidly deteriorate. Be SET to GO.
