Glenwood Police Department Scam Alert ⚠️

Recent storms have caused damage throughout our area, and unfortunately, scam artists often target homeowners during these times.

Please use caution if approached by contractors or companies offering immediate repair services. Before agreeing to any work or signing any contracts:

✅ Contact your insurance company first and follow their recommendations.

✅ Verify that the contractor is properly licensed and insured.

✅ Ask for references and check online reviews.

✅ Obtain written estimates from multiple companies before making a decision.

✅ Never feel pressured to sign a contract on the spot.

✅ Be cautious of anyone requesting large upfront payments or cash-only transactions.

🚨 If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Legitimate contractors understand that homeowners need time to review estimates, consult with their insurance company, and make informed decisions.

If you believe you have been contacted by a scammer or have concerns about a contractor’s practices, please contact the Glenwood Police Department.

Stay safe, and help protect your neighbors by sharing this information.

‼️NOTICE: Pope County’s Minnesota Alert System Change 12/05/2025‼️

Pope County has partnered with Regroup to launch a new mass notification system designed to keep the community informed and prepared during critical events. This advanced platform delivers urgent updates through phone calls, text messages, emails, and more; ensuring fast, reliable communication when it matters most.

The CodeRed by Onsolve Emergency Notification System previously used by Pope County has been decommissioned following a cyber attack and data breach at the vendor level. OnSolve customers lost access to the platform on November 10, 2025. Agencies that relied on the platform have also had access to FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) revoked, limiting the ability to quickly send out emergency notifications.

If you created a CodeRed account and used the same username and password elsewhere, we strongly recommend updating those passwords immediately.

If you receive any alerts or messages claiming to be from CodeRed on behalf of Pope County, do not engage and terminate the communication. Pope County accessed CodeRed through a web-based application, and no other county infrastructure has been compromised.

Pope County encourages all residents to register today!

You can register to receive Pope County, MN alerts by going to the Pope County, MN website or you may register in person at the Pope County Courthouse. The Sheriff’s Office or the Emergency Management Office will have paper forms available for you to fill out.

You may go to the county website and click on the Alerts Sign Up (bell):
