Yes on 2C: Workforce Housing Glenwood Vote YES on Ballot Issue 2C to create a Workforce Housing Fund in Glenwood Springs. yes2cglenwood.org The problem will only get worse and more expensive to fix.

Glenwood Springs is an amazing community, but a lack of workforce housing threatens our community, economy and quality of life. Many of the people and working families who make up our community are struggling to get by. Local businesses are struggling to hire and maintain normal hours. We need to take action now. Enter Ballot issue 2C: The Workforce Housing Fund - Affordable Homes for our Workforc

This fall, we can create a Workforce Housing Fund dedicated to expanding housing options our workforce can afford. The fund, created through a modest 2.5% increase in our lodging tax, will be paid mostly by tourists visiting short-term rentals, hotels, motels and other lodging. The Workforce Housing Fund will support creative solutions that fit our community, including incentives for Accessory Dwelling Units, motel conversions, public private partnerships, down payment loans, and affordable units within existing development. The fund will leverage millions of dollars and give us more control over future development in Glenwood Springs. Vote YES on 2C this fall!

The effects of our housing crisis are felt on a daily basis, by everyone.

The interstate and highway are overused—from gridlocked traffic patterns to accidents to wear that leads to hazardous conditions, these are results from cross-valley commuting.

Restaurant delays, store closures, staffing issues—if people can't afford to live here, businesses are unable to hire workers to sustain their businesses. We've all felt this in the past few months.

The competition to find affordable housing is steep, as home prices continue to rise but salaries do not. Add in conditions to a selective rental market, such as pets or additional space for families, and it's even harder.

We've got to start somewhere. Vote Yes on 2C: let's address the number one threat to our local economy and find solutions for workforce housing in Glenwood Springs.

It's time to VOTE!

Here's the Voting Process:

Ballots were mailed on or about October 17. They must be received by the County Clerk by Tues., Nov. 8.

Here’s how you can vote:
• Drop your ballot in one of the 24/7 Ballot Drop Boxes in any of our communities up through 7pm on Nov. 8.
• You could have affixed postage and dropped your completed ballot in the mail no later than Oct. 31
• Vote in person before Election Day (2 locations) or on Election Day (4 locations)

Details on Ballot Drop Box locations as well as the times and locations for in-person voting can be found at www.garfield-county.com/clerk-recorder/elections/.

If you haven’t already done so, you may want to sign up for Colorado Ballotrax so that you can track the status of your ballot. https://colorado.ballottrax.net/voter/
