🐾 UPDATE -- OWNER FOUND 🐾

This fluffy little friend was found wandering and has checked in at the Glenwood City Police Department. So far, they've been cooperative, friendly, and only slightly demanding about snack negotiations.

We're trying to locate the owner of this happy pup. If this dog belongs to you, or if you know who the owner might be, please contact the Glenwood City Police Department.

In the meantime, our temporary guest is safe, comfortable, and reminding us that every patrol shift could use more tail wags. 🐢

Please share to help reunite this adorable escape artist with its family!

Thank You, Mike's Auto

The Glenwood City Police Department would like to thank Mike's Auto for donating and installing new graphics on this 2013 squad vehicle.

In addition, Mike's Auto donated the labor and materials to sand and repaint the vehicle's rims, helping refresh its appearance and extend the life of existing equipment.

We appreciate this contribution to the project. Donations of time, labor, and materials help us maintain our equipment while being mindful of costs, and we are grateful for the support shown to our department and the community we serve.

πŸ’¦ Water Safety Starts With You! πŸ’¦

As temperatures rise and families head to pools, lakes, and rivers, we want to remind everyone that water safety is everyone's responsibility.

πŸ‘Ά Never leave children unattended near water β€” even for a moment. 🦺 Make sure kids wear properly fitted life jackets when boating or participating in water activities. πŸ‘€ Designate a "Water Watcher" whose only job is to supervise children in and around the water. πŸ“± Put phones and distractions away while supervising. 🏊 Enroll children in age-appropriate swimming lessons and teach them basic water safety skills.

Remember: Drowning can happen quickly and quietly. A few simple precautions can help prevent tragedy and keep summer fun safe for everyone.

Stay safe, stay alert, and enjoy the water responsibly!

Traffic Safety Reminder – Temporary Signals in Construction Zone

As road construction continues in town, temporary traffic lights have been installed near the work zone. Please remember:

The temporary traffic lights DO NOT replace the nearby four-way stop intersection.

Drivers must still come to a complete stop at all posted stop signs, even if the temporary construction signal is green.

The close proximity of the two traffic control devices may cause confusion, so we are asking everyone to slow down, stay alert, and pay close attention to all signs and signals in the area.

Please help keep our community, construction workers, and other motorists safe by driving cautiously through the work zone.

A friendly reminder that we have entered the lawn mowing season. Please be sure to keep lawns mowed so that they don't have to be mowed by our Public Works Department causing you to incur costs.

This week, we recognize National Police Week β€” a time to honor the men and women in law enforcement who serve their communities with courage, compassion, and dedication every single day.

To our surrounding law enforcement partners, thank you for always being willing to answer the call, back one another up, lend a hand when it is needed most, and stand together through both the difficult moments and the everyday challenges of this profession. The trust, friendship, and teamwork we share do not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful to serve alongside you.

Whether it is answering calls in the middle of the night, helping someone through a crisis, standing beside us on difficult scenes, or simply being there when our community needs help most, your support and teamwork matter more than words can express. We are proud to work alongside such dedicated people who care deeply about the communities they serve.

The Glenwood City Police Department would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the people and agencies we work beside each day. From neighboring law enforcement agencies, dispatchers, fire and EMS personnel, correctional staff, social workers, tow truck operators, and so many others β€” the list of partners who help serve and protect our community is long. None of us do this job alone.

Police Week is also a time to remember and honor the officers across this country who gave their lives in the line of duty, and to recognize the families who continue to carry that sacrifice every day.

Thank you to everyone who serves, supports, and stands beside one another in the mission of helping others.

To our fellow law enforcement officers and your families β€” this video is for you. Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the burdens you carry, and the commitment you show to your communities each and every day.
