🚨‼️SEEKING INFORMATION‼️🚨

Glenville Dog Control is urgently seeking witnesses, information, and video footage regarding a loose dog that attacked a child riding a scooter on their way to school this morning, Friday, September 11, 2026.

When: Between 6:15 a.m. and 6:45 a.m.

Where: The corner of Sacandaga Rd and Neal St

Check your video footage: If you live near this intersection or were driving by, please check your Ring/doorbell cameras, security systems, or dashcams for any footage of a loose dog or the incident between 6:00 a.m. and 6:45 a.m.

Identify the dog/owner: If you know who owns a dog that was loose in the area, or if you witnessed the attack, please contact authorities immediately.

‼️🚨 INFORMATION NEEDED: OWNER/ABANDONMENT LEADS 🚨‼️

We are actively seeking any information regarding what appears to be intentional abandonment of two small dogs left at the Scotia/Glenville Middle School softball fields.

The dogs were first spotted in the fields on Saturday morning, September 5th, around 7:30 AM. Initially, a bystander assumed an owner was nearby, but they later realized the dogs had been left entirely on their own. Securing them was incredibly difficult—both were terrified, and while one had to be trapped, the other took off running and had to be netted for their safety due to being surrounded by very busy roads and high speed limits. They remain deeply traumatized and scared.

Someone out there knows something. If you recognize these dogs, know who used to own them, or noticed a vehicle or individual no who no longer has them, please speak up. We are also looking for any witnesses who saw suspicious activity or vehicles near the school fields early Saturday morning or even the evening prior when dark out could have happened. Thank you

Brindle brown/white chest Pitbull, no collar tags. Waiting to be chip checked.

**UPDATE** 9/6/26 6:15 a.m CHECK UPDATED PICTURES for capture of second dog.

I came out early morning to bait and saw dog in field at 3:30 a.m, left camera and bait. Headed back out to get trap and I set trap by 5a.m. Then by 6:15 a.m. the dog on cameras and moments later in the trap. She must have loved the liquid smoke. Who knows these dogs?!

First White/tan dog captured. Second small tanish/brown still loose.

Professional trap and cameras have been set up to capture a small dog. To give this dog the best chance of being caught should it return, we need everyone's cooperation:

** DO NOT flood or search the park. Please walk somewhere else for the time being. I know that is asking a lot. But if you do see this, it will help tremendously as it is a huge area to cover. Extra foot traffic or crowds will spook the dog and drive them out of the area entirely.

** DO NOT chase, call out to, or approach the dog. This dog is terrified, and any attempts to get close will ruin the trapping efforts.

** DO NOT disturb the trap or camera equipment. The best way you can help right now is by giving the entire area total space and quiet so the trap can do its job. If you happen to see the dog outside of the immediate field area, please do not intervene — simply report the sighting to Glenville Dog Control @ 518.441.9230

🚨 CRITICAL: MISSING SENIOR, BLIND DOG IN WEST GLENVILLE 🚨

Please help us find Rocco, an older dog who went missing near the intersection of W Glenville Rd and Green Corners Rd around 9:00 PM last night 9/3/26

Important Details about Rocco:

🐾 Condition: He is senior and completely blind. He is likely disoriented and scared.

📸 Appearance: See attached photo (grey/blue short coat with white paws).His owners and neighbors are actively out searching for him.

MAISY THE COMMERCE STREET PUP: 🐾❤️

I have some wonderful news to share: the little girl in this video, Maisy, who was on the run for the last two days is now secure! I was able to successfully trap and capture her early this morning today, and she is finally safe!

Getting her was a constant battle and a deeply worrisome situation. Because she was in a very busy section with high speed Am track train and along the tracks she's been and a lot of people around, she refused to come out much during the day, and I was constantly terrified that the noise of the train would spook her and push her further away. On top of that, I spent my days battling swarms of bees inside the traps and my nights letting out several different local cats that kept wandering in.

It was a race against the elements, but tonight, the cats finally gave up, she stepped out of the woods, and my grilled bait did the trick! (Though she almost missed her opportunity as one last stubborn cat who almost entered the trap just two minutes prior!)

I just personally felt the need to post this and say a massive thank you to everybody in our community. A job like this is simply not possible without your backing. When dogs are loose, scared, and on the run, saving them requires a true team effort, you truly are my team.

While I can't personally make it out to thank every single individual whose house and property I visited over the last 48 hours, I want to make sure you all know how deeply grateful I am. To the residents who graciously allowed me to be on your property and who were actively checking your land every single day to help—THANK YOU. You provided the vital puzzle pieces I needed to know exactly where to place the trap. Special thank you to resident Byran who went above and beyond as a neighbor to see this through and let me trap on your property.

I am so fortunate to serve a community that steps up when an animal is in need. Thank you for always having my back so I can protect theirs! 🙏🐕

🐾 Sometimes, your best judgment is just as important as following general guidance. 🐾

While we generally discourage searching for a lost dog on foot because frightened dogs can easily be spooked, chased, and pushed farther away, there are times when using your best judgment is important.

Every lost dog situation is different. In some cases, especially when there have been no sightings for an extended period or when certain areas haven't been ruled out, a careful on-foot search can be the right decision. This is especially true in areas where drones cannot legally fly, which is often the case in parts of our county. 🚫🚁 Even if a drone had been available, it likely would not have found Nina because she was trapped inside an old building. 🏚️

🌡️ With the extreme heat sticking around for the next week, it was imperative to find Nina as quickly as possible. Time was not on her side, making it even more important to thoroughly search and eliminate every possible location.

Nina had apparently jumped down into an old foundation, about a 2-foot drop, but was unable to get herself back out. Her size and weight were likely factors in preventing her escape.

As I searched the property, I called her name a few times before reaching the doorway of the building. 🐕 When I looked inside, I couldn't believe what I saw. Nina came from the far corner and walked right over to me. ❤️ I had been determined to thoroughly rule out the property, and thankfully, I did.

👏 A huge thank you to the Conifer Park and security staff for allowing me to search the property and for helping me safely get Nina out.

🏡💕 The best outcome possible—Nina is safely back home where she belongs with her family! 🐾❤️

📢IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE: PARK LEASH LAWS - Town of Glenville & Village of Scotia

Due to a recent increase in community complaints, local authorities are strictly monitoring and enforcing leash laws in all public parks and recreational areas.

🚫 Strict Leash Requirement
All dogs must be leashed and under control at all times. Off-leash activities and off-leash training are strictly prohibited.

Rules apply to all public spaces, with Indian Meadows Park, Maalwyck Park, and Collins Park receiving specific scrutiny. Off-leash running is only permitted inside designated, permitted dog parks.

📋 Visitor Responsibilities
Keep your dog on a physical leash at all times. Pick up and properly dispose of all pet waste. Respect wildlife, waterfowl, and other park visitors.

⚠️ Enforcement Actions
This notice serves as an official community-wide warning. Park users who violate these regulations may be issued citations and fines by law enforcement in accordance with Town and Village codes.

‼️⚠️BOLO – Owner Sought⚠️‼️ Incident on 6/4/26 5:09 p.m.

A dog was reported running in the area alone and unattented at intersection Cramer Avenue and Glen Avenue. **The dog is described as approximately 30 pounds, black in color with a white muzzle consistent with age, pointed upright ears, and wearing a blue collar.** The dog was involved in an attack to 2 dogs and once seperated ran off in the direction of Sanders Avenue!

I am attempting to identify and locate the owner to ensure the dog's welfare and confirm it has safely returned home along with vaccine information. If you recognize this dog or have any information regarding its owner, please contact my office at 518-688-1229.

➡️I would also like to remind pet owners that dogs are not permitted to roam at large. Loose dogs create safety concerns for the animals themselves, motorists, pedestrians, and other pets. We have seen an increase in incidents involving dogs running loose throughout the community, and owners are expected to maintain proper control and confinement of their pets.⬅️
