On Monday June 1 at approximately 11:20pm, East Glenville Fire Department was dispatched to the Hampton Run Apartments for a reported vehicle fire. On our arrival, firefighters found heavy fire that had spread to 3 unoccupied vehicles, all parked approximately 10 feet from the building. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, preventing any fire spread to the adjacent apartment building. The building suffered heat damage to the exterior, with no fire spread to the interior portion of the building.

We would like to thank theGlenville Police Department, Alplaus Fire Department, Stratton Air Guard Fire Department and Schenectady County Fire Coordinators and Investigators for assisting on scene.

As EMS week begins to wrap up, we would like to take a moment to recognize our friends at Mohawk Ambulance Service and LifeNet of New York who work hard at providing emergency medical care and transport of the sick and injured to the Town of Glenville. It is a honor to work along side you in keeping our community safe.

In addition, thank you to the many EMT’s among our ranks here at East Glenville Fire Department. Due to their contributions, we provide 24/7 first response care to those having medical and traumatic emergencies, allowing us to help stabilize patients until transport can arrive. Thank you for your training, continuing education and passion for helping those in need.

Last weekend, EGFD hosted their first touch a truck event in conjunction with our annual recruit NY event. Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a visit or helped make the day a success.

We gained a few prospective members from the event, and hope to add more as the year goes on. If you’re interested in volunteering please stop down to our firehouse or shoot us a message here. Our department is 100% volunteer and made up of members from the community we serve. We will be happy to get in touch with you.
