🛒 A Quick Reminder While Grocery Shopping

We've recently received reports of wallets being stolen from purses while shoppers were browsing local stores.

Many victims don't realize their wallet is missing until they reach the checkout line.

🚨 Thieves often look for easy opportunities and may use distractions to separate you from your belongings. Someone striking up an unexpected conversation, asking for assistance, or creating a distraction could be part of the plan.

Help protect yourself by:

✅ Keep purses zipped closed
✅ Use a crossbody bag when possible
✅ Never leave your purse unattended in a shopping cart
✅ Keep a hand on your purse while shopping
✅ Consider leaving large purses at home and carrying only what you need
✅ Stay alert if strangers attempt to distract you while you're shopping

Remember: It only takes a few seconds for a wallet to disappear.

If you notice suspicious behavior while shopping, notify store staff and contact the Glenview Police Department. Spread the word... let's work together to make our community a safer place for everyone.
