Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor and remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the courage and sacrifice of the 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority Police Officers, and countless other first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.

We remember the families who lost loved ones, the survivors, and the generations who continue to carry the memory of that day.

September 11th reminds us of the courage, selflessness, and dedication displayed by those who answered the call in our nation's darkest hour. Today, we honor their sacrifice, remember their names, and stand united.

Ponderosa Drive will be closed between Burchfield Road and Sapling St. for road work. Alternate route is Dressel Road to Fernledge Drive.

NO emergency Vehicle access.

The road will be open for afternoon school bus routes.

Found Dog!

This pretty lady was found in a wooded area by Sheetz on Route 8. No tags and wouldn’t let officers get close enough to check for a chip.

Cooling Center Available in Shaler Township:

Today through Friday at 5pm, the Shaler North Hills Library 1822 Mt Royal Blvd Glenshaw PA 15116, will be open with their normal hours and can be used as a Cooling Center for area residents.

SNHL Hours:

Tuesday 10 AM–8 PM
Wednesday 10 AM–8 PM
Thursday 10 AM–8 PM
Friday 10 AM–5 PM

Traffic Alert:

Monday August 31st. 7am to 6pm, Burchfield Road will have a single lane restriction near Manuel Drive for storm inlet repair on Manuel Drive. Police and flaggers will be controlling traffic. Use caution in the area and expect minor delays.

Monday August 31 through Wednesday September 2nd, Herron Lane will be closed for milling and paving to restore the People’s gas line work. Residents and emergency vehicles will have access , but no thru traffic permitted.

Scott Ave at Herron Lane will be restricted on one of those days for a few hours. Once we know which day and time, we will update this message🚧

Officer Bonnette is representing Shaler Township Police at the Annual Charity Rib Eating Contest Kickoff tonight 6-8pm at the McCandless Texas Roadhouse!

Next Monday, August 31st, our highly trained team of officers will be competing against McCandless PD in the first round! Come cheer them on while they strive for the top for the 4th straight year!
