This school year has almost ended, and we are proud to again highlight another Teacher of the Week sponsored by TCT Federal Credit Union! Congratulations to Mrs. Phyllis Cleveland, Special Education Teacher at Glens Falls Middle School. Mrs. Cleveland’s classroom feels like a family, and she has changed many students’ attitudes toward school. She makes every student feel capable, respected, and included. Her communication with parents is incredible. These parents also appreciate that Mrs. Cleveland incorporates board games as a way to connect learning. She somehow makes children who are often overlooked truly feel seen! Thanks again to Mrs. Phyllis Cleveland for all she does at Glens Falls Middle School!

More than 100 scholarships and awards totaling more than $170,000 were presented to graduating seniors at the High School’s annual Awards Assembly for the Class of 2026! As a school community, we sincerely appreciate all the families and organizations that provide funding for our students as they venture into the world to do great things. We thank them for the difference they’re making in students’ lives as they honor their loved ones. The entire (months-long) process of awarding these scholarships is coordinated by Arlene Tobias, and the extensive and meaningful slide show is created by Rob Amberger. Huge kudos to Arlene and Rob for their efforts every year, and thank you again to the alumni, families, and groups that give so generously to our students!! ❤️🖤

💚🩵 Youth Voices Leading the Way at WAIT House

On Friday afternoon, WAIT House was honored to visit Glens Falls High School and hear a presentation from students who have developed an exciting vision for a WAIT House Youth Advisory Board.

Created by students, for students, this initiative will bring together 12 youth leaders who will provide valuable feedback, share their perspectives, and help shape programs and services that impact young people throughout our community. Their mission is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: youth deserve a voice in decisions that affect their lives.

What makes this initiative especially remarkable is that it is believed to be the first Youth Advisory Board of its kind in our area. These students are not only creating opportunities for themselves, but they are also helping establish a model for meaningful youth engagement that could inspire organizations and communities throughout the region.

The students presented a thoughtful plan to guide, enhance, and strengthen WAIT House programs through youth insight, innovation, and lived experience. Their professionalism, confidence, and passion for making a difference left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

We were also grateful for the opportunity to meet with Mrs. Stewart, whose encouragement and dedication to empowering young leaders helped bring this vision to life.

At WAIT House, we believe that when young people are given a seat at the table, everyone benefits. This Youth Advisory Board represents more than a new program, it represents trust, collaboration, and a commitment to ensuring that the voices of youth are heard, valued, and acted upon. Seeing these students step forward with such purpose and leadership gives us tremendous hope for the future.

A special thank you to the students for their hard work, courage, and commitment to service. We are excited to support this groundbreaking initiative and look forward to learning from these young leaders as we work together to strengthen our community.
