🦆 The ducks are on the move!

What a beautiful day spent with Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls for the Duck Parade over the weekend! Seeing that GIANT duck making its way through town definitely means one thing… Duck-A-Palooza is almost here!

Join us THIS SUNDAY, September 20, at Crandall Park from 11 AM–2 PM for Duck-A-Palooza! 🦆

Bring the whole family for an afternoon filled with games, food, music, community fun, and the largest game of Duck Duck Goose in Glens Falls history! All ages and abilities are welcome.

Be sure to make your way around the park and visit the participating organizations, each table will have a fun activity for you to enjoy! And while you’re making the rounds, don’t forget to stop by the WAIT House table and say hi! 👋💚

Then, get ready for the big event as thousands of ducks take the drop! Who will land closest to the target?!

Today, we remember. 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years later, the events of September 11, 2001 remain forever etched in our hearts. Today, we honor the lives lost and hold especially close the families and loved ones who have carried that loss with them for the past 25 years. While time continues to move forward, the love and memories of those lost remain.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to the first responders and volunteers who answered the call that day and in the days, weeks, and months that followed. Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, medical professionals, rescue and recovery workers, volunteers, and countless others stepped forward in a time of unimaginable tragedy. Their courage, sacrifice, compassion, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

September 11 also reminds us of what can happen when we come together, neighbors helping neighbors, strangers supporting one another, and entire communities showing up for people they had never met.

Today, we remember those we lost, the loved ones who continue to carry their memory, and the heroes and volunteers who served. May we continue to honor them by carrying forward that same spirit of kindness, compassion, service, and unity.

WAIT House is seeking a Clinician/Social Worker – Children & Families (CFTSS) to provide community-based mental health services throughout Warren and Washington Counties.

Qualifications:
✔ Master of Social Work (MSW) degree required.
✔ Applicants must have completed their MSW and be actively working toward New York State LMSW licensure.
✔ Clinical supervision will be provided.
✔ Valid New York State Driver's License.
✔ Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
✔ Experience working with children, youth, and families preferred.
✔ Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered care.

WAIT House is at the 6th Annual Veteran & First Responder Su***de Awareness & Prevention Walk at Glens Falls City Park.

We’re proud to stand alongside local organizations, veterans, first responders, families, and community members to help raise awareness, share resources, and remind people that support is available and no one has to struggle alone.

If you’re at the walk, stop by the WAIT House table and say hello! 👋💚

👶💚 September is Baby Safety Month!

At WAIT House, we know that creating a safe environment for little ones starts with the everyday things. Baby Safety Month is a great reminder for parents, caregivers, and families to take a few extra steps to help keep babies safe, healthy, and protected.

A few important baby safety reminders:

💤 Practice safe sleep: Always place babies on their backs to sleep on a firm, flat surface with no pillows, blankets, bumpers, or stuffed animals.

🚗 Check the car seat: Make sure your child’s car seat is appropriate for their age and size and is properly installed.

🔥 Prevent burns: Check bath water, bottles, and food temperatures before giving them to your baby, and keep hot items out of reach.

🏠 Baby-proof your space: Secure furniture, cover electrical outlets, use safety gates, and keep medications, cleaning products, and small objects safely out of reach.

👀 Stay close: Never leave a baby unattended around water, on changing tables, or other elevated surfaces.

Small precautions can make a big difference. 💚

Gift cards from any business and in any amount are welcome. A common donation is five $10 gift cards, but every contribution is appreciated!
