This week, the Glens Falls Police Department partnered with the New York State Police and the Warren County Sheriff's Office NY to conduct a Buckle Up New York checkpoint within the City of Glens Falls.

The checkpoint was sponsored by the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee and funded through grant support. Buckle Up New York is a statewide, zero-tolerance enforcement initiative aimed at increasing seat belt and child safety restraint use to help keep motorists safe.

We appreciate the cooperation of everyone who passed through the checkpoint as we continue our efforts to improve traffic safety and ensure that everyone traveling on our roadways arrives at their destination safely

Who doesn’t love seeing K9 Marshall!? Thank you again to Brady’s K9 Fund for making sure K9 Marshall is kept safe while on patrol!

This long hair cutie hails from the Glens Falls PD in NY. He is a newer graduate from patrol school and hit the streets in December. He is currently certified in tracking, article location, apprehension, and handler protection. Marshall's favorite thing to do is go to work each day. However, on his days off he enjoys getting all of the attention he can. He loves playing with his ball and running around the yard.

Today was the Glens Falls and Queensbury Memorial Day ceremony. The Glens Falls Police Department is honored to lead the parade each year with our department’s honor guard. This Memorial Day, we remember all of the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice, and we thank them for their service and sacrifice to our nation.

Yesterday, Officers Bell, Collodi, Maranville, and Pooler completed Project Lifesaver Operator Training. The Glens Falls Police Department now has 12 officers certified in this program.

Project Lifesaver, in partnership with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, is designed to assist “at-risk” individuals who may wander due to autism, Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other cognitive conditions. The program uses a personalized transmitter and specialized receiver equipment to help trained officers quickly locate missing individuals, significantly reducing search times.

Officers are assigned specific clients within the City of Glens Falls, allowing them to build and maintain meaningful relationships with the clients and their families. The program is focused on providing a rapid response to help save lives and reduce the risk of injury for both adults and children who have a tendency to wander.

We would like to give a huge thank you to Mr. Rodney Allen Bentley who presented Officer Pratt and K9 Marshall a charcoal drawing that he made.

Mr. Bentley made this drawing after seeing recent photos that we posted of K9 Marshall. It was a special moment for K9 Marshall to be recognized and to speak with Mr. Bentley afterwards.
