Met the nicest young man, Gregor Amelkin, from Estonia today. He is in America on an internship and displaying a wonderful set of K5-grade 12 book sets. These are quality books and if I still had kids at home, I'd be purchasing several sets. Gregor was in Mountain Home yesterday and met with Sheriff Hollinshead and got his picture taken with the sheriff. He said Mountain Home was his favorite city in Idaho thus far. Well, here's hoping Glenns Ferry may edge out Mountain Home as his favorite.

If you see gregarious Gregor, stop and chat. He is incredibly interesting, funny and kind. Ask about Estonia, he will even share pictures of his beautiful momma (who looks at least 15 years younger than the age Gregor stated for her). Any 21 year old man who adores his mom this much...I approve :-).

Please take a close look at the book sets. He has sample books and sets on hand. Truly phenomenal quality in binding, illustrations and useful content.

Gregor is a new friend. I hope when he gets his engineering degree he moves to the land of opportunity 🇺🇸! Gregor is pictured below with interim City Clerk, Becca Negrete.

Celebrating "Independence Day 250"!

"Inviolable Rights - Let Freedom Ring Challenge"

Parents of children 12 and under...during the Glenns Ferry 4th of July festivities from the parade sidelines to city park events, there is an opportunity for the first 50 kids (accompanied by an adult) to "Find the Mayor". Each child who approaches the Mayor and says, "Let Freedom Ring!" will receive a 250 commemorative flag pin and pocket-sized U.S. Constitution.

Liberty is the air we breathe. It's in the freedom to worship, to speak our mind, to safeguard home and family, and to create our own destiny. America was born through pain, struggle and sacrifice. Scars and blood paid for our rights and freedoms. Rights we should cherish and never take for granted. America is far from the ordinary; She is extraordinary! Protect Her with courage, loyalty, vigilance, and the firm and active desire to instill these qualities in our youth.

Wishing you all a reflective, blessed and joyous Independence Day; full to the brim in memory making moments.

Mayor, Susan Case
