⚠️September is National Preparedness Month!

As Alaskans, CVEA members know all too well how important it is to be prepared for anything - from ice storms to extreme temperatures, flooding, and avalanches. CVEA encourages members to be prepared for outages and other emergencies, and offers these resources for tools and tips:

Winter Generation Rates Begin
Rates based on winter generation, or using fuel as the primary resource for power generation, will begin in September. Members should expect to see higher electric bills beginning with the September 20 bill.
To lessen the impact of higher fuel usage and high diesel prices as we enter the winter season, CVEA will levelize the cost of power by maintaining the same rate from September through November 2026. The rate is based on 72% hydro, 18% cogeneration, and 10% diesel. If fuel costs change, or additional hydro is available, a revision to the rate may be necessary.
As a reminder, fuel costs are a direct pass-through to members based on their usage.
