Big thanks to Risk Services of Louisiana, Inc. for recognizing the Rapides Parish Police Jury Fire Districts as an LWCC Safest 70 recipient.

Turns out all those safety meetings, checklists, and “don’t forget your PPE” reminders actually pay off. 🚒😅

We’re proud to be one of the many departments where safety is more than a policy it’s part of the culture. Here’s to continuing to protect our crews, our communities and making sure everyone gets home safe at the end of the day.

Fire is under control on hwy 113 huge thank you to Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department and louisiana state forestry for quick response and action to get it under control. There will be smoke in the area for some time.

Please use caution on Hwy 113 near union Hill station out of control fire Hwy 113 is blinded by smoke and multiple firefighters and vehicles are in the smoke

On behalf of the Plainview Volunteer Fire Department Fire District 10, we are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our friend Retired Sheriff William Earl Hilton of the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, he was a true friend & supporter of our department.

Sheriff Hilton served the people of Rapides Parish for over 50 years. He dedicated his life to protecting and serving Rapides Parish.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends & all of the law enforcement men & women who served under his command. 💙

With this recent storm a lot of rain fell in a short time. There are several roads that have water across them and and more rain coming which will make the situation worse. Please be careful when driving tonight. As of now there are no road closures. Below is a list of roads holding water that we know of as of now. Please comment if any we miss.
