Periodic lane restrictions on the 79 Bridge this weekend.

Interstate 79 Neville Island Bridge Lane Restrictions this Weekend in Allegheny County

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing lane restrictions on the I-79 Neville Island Bridge in Robinson and Neville townships, and Glenfield Borough, Allegheny County will occur Friday, June 5 through Monday, June 8 weather permitting.

There will be single-lane restrictions in both directions of I-79 on the Neville Island Bridge from 7:00 PM Friday night continuously through 5:00 AM Monday morning. Crews from Lindy Paving will conduct concrete patching. All ramps will remain open during this time.

The restriction could be lifted earlier if the work is completed sooner. Please stay alert and drive cautiously – safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Attention ‼️‼️
Starting on Monday June 1st, SAI staff will be out on the Glenfield Viaduct inspecting the bridge as part of our Final Design contract currently underway. Lanes will be restricted using flagging operations while the inspection is being performed and will run from about 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM from June 1, 2026 to June 4, 2026. We will return on June 8th and 9th to finish the inspection process. We will also be inspecting the lower areas of the structure from the ground level.

Hi Neighbors- the railroad finally listened to my many emails/complaints and has a company out right now spraying their land on Dawson and some of E Beaver. It’s a w**d killer, so if your outside and smell something- that’s what it is.
I have been trying since beginning of March to get the railroad to come out take care of their property and finally they are! I did say to the company that the trees on E Beaver are bad as well and need attention, so hopefully that’s next on their agenda! 😊

Hello Neighbors:

Just heard from a community member that they have a very friendly, orange male cat that’s been coming around to their porch. No collar or ID tags. They wanted us to post on here in case someone recognizes him and wants to claim him. Let us know if this is someone’s cat or if someone would like him. We would be able to get that info to the resident.

Due to side roads that still need to be cleared and difficult conditions at many bus stops, Quaker Valley School District will be closed tomorrow.
