This milestone is no small feat. This job often weighs heavily on the body and mind. Congratulations, Casey, and thank you for your continued dedication to serving the community.

Last week, on June 8th, Reserve Officer Casey O’Gorman celebrated 40 years of service with the Glendora Police Department. FORTY YEARS!!

Casey has worked many different assignments within the police department, and is currently assigned to our Detective Bureau. Per Interim Chief Egan, “Casey is an amazing police officer, father, grandfather and friend. He has made thousands of arrests, coached thousands of football games, and made thousands of friends along the way.”

When asked why he has served our community for forty years, Officer O’Gorman said, “Because of the people.”

We thank you, Casey, for your dedication and service to our police department and our city...you have made a difference!

Another example of fine work by the men and women of the Glendora Police Officers Association proudly serving the community and keeping Glendora safe.

Late Saturday night, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at Our Place, 240 E. Route 66. Patrol Officers managed the scene, including evidence collection and witness interviews, and detectives were called in to investigate. Detectives worked through Sunday to identify and locate the suspect. Late Sunday night, detectives convinced 33-year-old Aaron Beierschmitt of Riverside to turn himself in. Beierschmitt, who is currently on Post-Release Community Supervision, was arrested without incident. Today, the case was presented to the District Attorney's Office and Beierschmitt was charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in lieu of $1,080,000 bail. Excellent work by our Patrol staff and Investigations Division getting a dangerous suspect off the street in less than 24 hours. Special thanks to Azusa PD for assisting at the crime scene during the initial stages of the investigation.

The March 5th Glendora special election is fast approaching. The only item on the ballot is Measure E and its goal is simple: keep Glendora’s tax dollars in Glendora. Measure E would increase Glendora sales tax by 0.75% to reach the State of California’s maximum allowable sales tax rate. A yes vote on this proposed sales tax increase would prevent the County of Los Angeles, the Air Quality Management District, or any other entity from proposing the same tax increase and taking your tax dollars out of our city. Despite large service and staffing reductions, Glendora is operating at a budget deficit. The revenue generated by this projected sales tax increase will be used to preserve city services. A YES vote on Measure E keeps your tax dollars in Glendora. A NO vote opens the door for your tax dollars to be used elsewhere in Los Angeles County. The Glendora Police Officers Association supports Measure E. Visit www.YesOnEGlendora.com for more information.

Another example of fine police work by the hardworking men and women who serve Glendora day in and day out. Our officers are proud to work hand in hand with residents and commercial businesses to get criminals off the streets and return stolen property to the rightful owners.

Four people were arrested Wednesday after robbing Kohl’s of a multitude of merchandise, a police lieutenant said.
